Gonna be in Mandurah this weekend so heading down to the game. Does anyone have a floorplan of the clubrooms so I can locate the trophy cabinet... I couldn't find it last time

I won't be able to make it this week :(

Shame, because I'd like to see Notte play without Hansen (I think it's stifling his development somewhat) and Nicko with Spanders back (meaning he should spend more time as a utility)

Very disappointing finish. Whilst credit goes to Peel for continuing to run we look like we decided it was over. Why Naita wasn't in the ruck more baffles me, but I'm guessing the Eagles wanted it that way. Notte has to be used as the FF, all the time, or Geappen. Place the other players around them.

Sorry, I'm peed off. :(

Oh, and how incredibly remiss of me to not put a congratulations to Tallen Ames for 100 games. 1 knee recon and another knee injury and still to have the heart and passion to stick with his WAFL club is fantastic.

Great Effort Tallan. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

There was a guy at the ground with the biggest mo I've ever seen and some of the funniest comments I've heard. It wasn't you was it Swannies?

No, I can't grow a mo and I wouldn't have been very funny in that last quarter either.

Hot rumours going around Basso last night as I left, and printed in the papers this morning is that Naita will not be with us next week. Will be taking on Richmond.

Was impressed with his forward work after quarter time to be honest, anyone else? Before that, at CHF though, thought it was average, but moved to FF looked a lot better.

For sure. Very impressive. To score 4.2 as well as get 21 hitouts in the ruck, is a massive performance. That goal in the Guildford end in the pocket was right in front of me and it was unbelievable. But perhaps the most promising aspect is his few marks that lead to set shots at FF involved some good body work. Considering he has barely played FF before other then the odd pinch hitting, he did very well.

Did you hear the story from last Wednesday's training Swannies?
When the boxing trainer arrived for training he had both Spaanderman and Carr waiting for him outside the change rooms. They had a bit of a blue and wanted to sort it out, so they both put on the gloves and went 3 rounds. There was blood spilt but at the end, it was called a draw and they were good mates again. Apparently Graham Jetta recorded it on his phone and it's on youtube, but I haven't been able to find it.

Good on them. It's a primal but sensible resolution to the issue.

Anyone got more info on Geappen? Just on stats he looks to be in some rare form.

Has been the ultimate utility this year Uncle Mick. Was very good last year but obviously got a good pre-season under his belt and has gone to a higher level this year. He's about 6'2"-3", ungainly looking character, unquestionable skills. Before the season and 1-2 games in I questioned his work ethic, just looked like he had more to offer, but after that first couple he runs end to end of that oval all day. He's also become a go to player. We couldn't get the ball in the F50 for the first 15 minutes of the 3rd quarter last week, so he gets thrown forward to take a contested mark and kick a goal and get the ball rolling.

Has become one of our most effective players, even rucking at times when the number 1 ruck was suspended and Naita was being nursed back into games. Wouldn't be surprised to see him leading our Swan Medal at this stage.

No I didn't hear about it Underdog, but I've been searching for that youtube video!:D

Welcome aboard CM. Yep, there's nothing better, at the moment, than relaxing on the grassy banks of Basso enjoying watching this current crop of young kids.

That team in the era you're speaking of was quite some team. Being a toddler I didn't see them, unfortunately, but I live down the road from one of the guys from before that era, I think, otherwise sorry Bobby , and some of the stories I've heard, ah the joy to have watched them. :thumbsu: The full back in those teams is particularly spoken of in revered terms isn't he? I'm trying to remember.

Thanks swannies. I played with him in Cairns a couple of years before he came across and unless things have changed, I'd be pretty safe in saying his work ethic is not one that needs questioning.

Yep, best of luck to big Naita and I hope the feral hordes don't turn on him if he doesn't have a dominant game.

He could aim at the point post and it would still go straight throught the guts. I just love it when he takes a mark inside 50 along with Notte

Wolfy was dropped this week for missing Sunday's recovery session.

Not the first undisciplined act from him and I hope he feels rubbish after the result. I think we missed him a bit.

I saw him as I walked to the bar (as I do) and was instantly disspointed

I don't want to get ahead of ourselves but today I found myself pondering on a possible finals lineup and the unlucky blokes who would miss out. I certainly wouldn't like the job of selecting the side.

Today we lined up something like this

B: Pratt Ames Twomey
HB: Casserly Spencer Ipaviz
C: L.Jetta B.Robinson Wolfenden
HF: Colreavy Geappen Simpson
FF: Potente Notte Hansen
F: Spaanderman Roberts Davis
I: J.Robinson D.McKinlay Carr Lange

We have J.Embley, Martin and G.Jetta on the fringe

We have Naitanui, Pearce, Walters and Hinkley qualified but on AFL duty

For mine, Naitanui and Pearce are certainties to be added. Walters is a near certainty but I think Hinkley may be uncertain.

McKinlay and J.Robinson are the obvious two to miss and history may suggest Colreavy may get shafted, however, I think Ben has been playing well and would be reluctant to make that switch - same with the underrated Simpson.

Any thoughts?

Nice work udog.

My main thought is, any chance Carr can be left out? :D Hinkley can stay there with him. :thumbsu:

Would expect J Robinson and Ipaviz to miss. D McKinlay is too versatile IMO and Simpson might be the other unlucky one, although I love Simmo!!:)
