Depth can be built by other means. My concern is look at our Mids and after Lids,Cotch and Dusty we struggle with actual matchwinners.I like Ellis and his ability to run but the truth of it all he'll never be that extra matchwinner that we need.WHE is that type we are lacking.Won't happen but i'd do it.
Ellis is a match winner. WHE is special but no point selling the farm to buy a prize cow, let Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon do that crap.

Pretty sad for Darrou and always liked Big O. Helbig just never really got a good chance at it with injuries hurting him.

Arnot to be our next tagger? Big body, loves the rough stuff and a good runner I believe.

Jacko and King probably free up a bit of cap space too wouldn't they?
Doubt King would have been on much.
Jacko, yes. Signed his deal midway through last season when he was playing sensational football and was only 27 years of age.

Need to attack free agency and the trade period hard in my opinion.
No more depth though.
Quality footballers only.

Couldn't bear to see him go to one of those clubs... If we can't have him, no-one can, dammit. NO-ONE!!!!

On the website they have no one on the rookie list and Miles (no surprise) and Thomas on the senior list. Sign of things to come?

I think we should trade Vickery because he's the only player I think we can afford to lose who has decent currency
Not including Riewoldt he is the only player on our list that has kicked 35+ goals in a season.

Was on target for 40 this year if he played every game.

And you do realise if we get rid of him our ruck stocks are Maric & Hampson?

Agile 200 cm blokes don't grow on trees and it is common knowledge they take longer to develop. Are we really willing to risk throwing him away now after putting in 6 years of development?

Hardwick in one of his last press conferences (can't recall if it was post game or on Thurs/Fri) quoted that he thought Elton and McBean will add value (to that effect anyway). So going by that, Elton should be safe for another 12 months.
You'd think Elton will get another year in defense, I think tigs2010 said it a few weeks ago in that Elton is finally learning to play reasonable football down back because it's easier for him to follow another player, he's a big boy but was lost up forward.

But to balance that (in relation to free agency) no point chasing players just because they're a free agent. And it's still a task to get the player to commit to a move. I'm sure sometimes we feel like the club is only targeting the small fish and don't have the balls to go big. But perhaps they ARE chasing the bigger fish, just not getting them over the line. As an example I've heard reference to "missing out on Fyfe and Mundy"... sooner or later we'll get one over the line... Surely!

Yep and he's dumb but he's big and athletic.

Knowing these aren't the final delistings and the final cull is still to come.. what are peoples thoughts on Arnot as a tagger if he is kept on?
Some people might say he has no tank but I don't believe that to be true, he is actually a rather fit person. He tries his heart out which is why he looks cooked most times, doesn't put a half assed effort like Grigg. I feel his trouble when he steps up to AFL is finding the ball when he is in the middle. Seems a little lost at stoppages. He could be a player that thrives on that run with role?

Thoughts?

RT you need to get with the program dude....i mean yeah there are rules but yeah too, there are ways around them. Not going to get into a debate about trading Ty etc, because there a pluses both ways, but come on dude, if the tigers brains trust got the right number pick put down in front of them, you would think they would have a quiet latte with Ty and suggest he should be announcing he wants to leave and everyone moves on...Dont think its gunna happen though, Ty is a keeper for at least another 2 years...shown enough to warrant that IMO.
No, _RT_ is actually right, we legally can't trade Vickery even if he and us wanted to

Here's hoping he can take Chaplin's spot in the future.
