Fyfe would improve us. No doubt about that. To have him, Cotchin, Martin, Deledio and Riewoldt as your A graders is a pretty good thing. All at a good age.

It comes down to cost though. What would we need to A. Give up to get him and B. How much would we pay him and how much would that restrict us going forward?

I like Seedsman. He can make the odd bad decision but has genuine pace and run and can kick the ball well and long. Again, depends on cost but yeah one to look at.
Thing with Fyfe is he has a rare ability to lay hands on the pill. Along with Jack Macrae he seems to be literally a ball magnet in close with the way it always bounces towards him. If we are looking at a ball winner I think he'd be ideal, I'd hope we had a sniff around Josh Kennedy first though.

Still think we could easily end up with Tyson by 2016.

GWS might want more draft picks to spread their cap to assist balancing their list and making it more effective in terms of synergy and maintaining a sustainable cap. If all their quality surges at once they will bust their cap which will not suit them either. Eg. draft picks to GWS, Boyd to MFC, Tyson to RFC.

No doubt as Cola disappears for GWS the likes of Scully probably traded on.
Tyson plays for Melbourne now.

I recommend you watch him play and not just form an opinion off what you hear about him in the media.
He's one of the best hard ball winners in the game, stupid.

You'd be nuts to go to the Dees for Paul Roos. He will walk out within months and leave the Dees to once again flounder. Not only that but he clearly has the worst game plan in the AFL. 3 goals in a game!!!! I would not be wanting to go there unless I wanted to be a loose man in defence or an inside mid.

I think Fyfe would be wrong due to what we would have to pay for him. I am not talking dollars but draft picks and players. Mundy is 29 at the start of next season but will have 4-5 years left. He will deliver the same as Fyfe for the next 4-5 years and we don't lose draft picks over it.

Ask yourself if you prefer Fyfe by himself less say pick 5 and a good young player like Lennon/Vlaustin because that is what Freo will aks for.

I would prefer to get Mundy FREE and then use pick 5 to draft Brayshaw.

Midfield rotation would be: Cotchin, Mundy, Lids, Vlaustin, Martin, Conca, Ellis, Brayshaw, Miles, Lennon

That is a good midfield all we would then need is a decent game plan. When Mundy is done in 4-5 years then find a new FA. That midfield with maturity and good coaching could get close to a flag.

I wouldn't trade for Fyfe unless Freo were happy to accept say pick 5 and Vickery type deal, but I can't see that.

The time to get Josh Kennedy was five years ago when a second round pick got the job done. Unfortunately Blair was still at Port, rogering us for Sarge.

Crozier is a real talent. If we can land another second round pick I'd give one for him.

Agree with amcre, Mundy is much more affordable than Fyfe.

Maybe by driving Fyfe's price up we'll make it so Freo is unable to match an offer for Mundy. Can't see Freo giving up a franchise player like Fyfe.

Crozier has played 3 games in the WAFL.

Round 1
18 disposals (9k/9hb) 2 marks 4 tackles
Round 9
27 disposals (18k/9hb) 7 marks 2 tackles
Round 11
27 disposals (23k/4hb) 10 marks 2 goals 5 tackles

At AFL level his 5 games have seen him average:
12.2 Disposals
5 Contested Possessions
70.5%DE
3.6 marks
0.2 Marks I50
0.4 clearances
3.4 tackles
2 I50s

If we're getting him on the cheap then it's a good get. If we're paying a second round pick for him then pass. Better yet if he is steak knives to a deal for Fyfe. Lets go with something like picks 6 & 26 and Vickery for Fyfe Crozier and pick 16. Everyone win, we get rid of Vickery and get Fyfe, while Freo get a couple of top 30 picks including a top 10. Get it done Blair. ;)

All signs point to Fyfe.

Heard the rumour a month ago but not from solid sources.

I think our club now is desperate to make a statement rightly or wrongly and will throw the cheque book at him.

I'm not convinced it's the right thing to do. Actually I don't think it's what we should be doing.
Fyfe is a superstar that would improve any team in the AFL, let alone perennial losers like us.

However. there is no chance of Fyfe coming to Richmond, none

If this club goes after Ross Lyon I am packing up and moving to Ireland and following whatever stupid sport they watch over there, because it'll be better than watching Lyon influenced Richmond. So help me god.
Why the hate. He may have a boring game plan but hey usually brings finals success lol

Is that right *******. I would suggest you watch how Fremantle set up and use him. He would not be as good with the Richmond side around him and Hardwick coaching.
Fyfe is ranked 4th in the AFL for contested possessions. In fact he wins over 50% of his disposals(26.2 per game) in a contested situation, he also ranks =13th for clearances and centre clearances as well as =21st for around the ground stoppages but yeah you're right he is an outside midfielder. o_O:oops:
