If we were the cats, there is no way we would accept Griffiths/astbury plus a late first rounder, two injury prone players, one with plenty of potentional who doesn't do what good forwards do a. Kick goals b. Take contested marks, the other being praised for leading the bnf last year between rounds 1-10 when we were playing some of our worst footy, not too mention he's hardly setting the world on fire in the twos atm, cats need mids.

I have a couple of mates that are Geelong supporters, that have been going to the Cats games for longer than I can remember. They are saying if Motlop wants to go it wouldn't worry them a lot, as they want players at their club that put in 100% all of the time. They say his x-factor can be spectacular, yet he can very lazy as well. Someday's he just doesn't turn up switched on & continues like that for weeks on end, then other times he will have a run of some very good games, like he has the last few weeks. So it is whether we can get him to contribute on a consistent basis over the whole season would be my only concern, as his x-factor is something we desperately require to become more un-predictable.
+1 on this. I'd love him to say but if he leaves we'd move on pretty quickly. I'd be worried if you sign him on a long and rich deal he'd go the way of his brothers and cousins. Fat and lazy. On his day he is amazing. He didn't play in any of our flag sides but he's the sort of bloke that could set The G aflame on Grand Final day.

I think there's a small chance he still might stay, rather than the traditional "I'll wait until the end of the season" or "I want to get some form back before signing etc". He's said that his manager is in talks with the club.

Thats where Chocco comes into play, You would be amazed at how highly the indigenous boys rate & love Chocco

If there was a vote to select a coach for an indigenous team, just about all the boys would vote for Chocco

Yarran,Motlop,Edwards lighting up the 'G on Grand Final day would be a sight for sore Tiger Eyes

Here's my prediction:

This entire board, me included, will continue to get our hopes up with with every passing day until trade week rolls around. We will then throw the mother of all tantrums when some other flog club throws 700k at him and we refuse to match it. We will then spend the off-season raging about how we failed to add any quality to our list and other clubs are going to overtake us.

Then when the season rolls around we will all collectively jizz our pants when our first rounder blind turns another player in the NAB cup, or he hits Jack Riewoldt with a mm perfect bullet.

Like clockwork.
