What makes me say it is Grigg in particular. Remind me again the reports on his efforts in games and how hard he worked off the field playing for Carlton? How is he playing now?

As for the rest of your post, it's speculative nonsense.

Sorry mate, wasn't having a go at you but I don't share the Yarran love nor the "we can fix him" approach.

Have to admit I didn't know much about Grigg pre Richmond but I can't recall him ever giving up during games?

Good on you for having greater faith in our club in turning Yarran around but I don't share it sorry. Dan Connors, Relton "burger" Roberts are two recent disasters that immediately come to mind. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Give me Motlop or Bennel any day over Yarran. We only have to keep these boys on the straight & narrow not get into their heads.

Jeff Garlett is gonna kick 40 goals plus for Melbourne this year. Think about that.

Garlett is a proven goal kicker, Yarran is not. How much of that is to do with Yarran playing predominately backline since becoming truly established at AFL level is the question and is why I waiver as to whether I want him or not. One thing that is for certain as far as I'm concerned is I wouldn't want him anywhere near our backline, which isn't an opinion I shared earlier in the season but having seen how well we defend as a unit I think Yarran would only destroy that.

Lindsay Thomas. We can trade Robin Nahas for Lindsay Thomas.

Yarran is an Elite talent, He has the skill to be just as good as Cyril if not better

He is at a club where the place is a complete rabble and he is being played out of position in a team thats getting bombarded
Carlton have a very very weak team with no game plan and little talent - Its impossible to understand how yarran must feel being so talented yet not being able to play his natural game.

Dermott Brereton actually mentioned the same thing yesterday on sen, In the Hawks team yarran would be unstopable
If we can get him for a pick in the mid 20's thats a bargain that we must go after specially with motlop and Edwards - wow

sorry for the intrusion but you will not have 12 or 15, given there will be priority picks for leuenger and possibly selwood
your first pick could be 18 or 20, and that will not work
just like you will not accept collingwoods second round pick for vickery
Both those players would have to get 600k to trigger band 1 compo, which I cant see. See Frawley.

I would play yarran on the wing and tell him to run all day.

Geelong aren't going to pay Selwood $600k to warrant a first round compo pick and WCE will like finish higher than us so even if your club is dumb enough to pay it, it won't affect us.

I can tell you this much from a hawf source. Hawthorn very much made a play for Yarren. They rate him highly. Yarren chose Carlton over the Hawks. Just an fyi.

Brereton said the other day the Hawks are sniffing around him.

How would people feel about this:

Richmond:
Out - picks 14 + 32
In - Aish + Yarran
Brisbane:
Out - Aish + pick 20
In - picks 14 + 32
Carlton:
Out - Yarran
In - pick 20

?
Prefer the following.
Richmond:
Out - picks 14 & 32
In - Motlop & Yarran

Carlton:
Out - Yarran & Henderson
In - picks 12 & 28

Geelong:
Out - Picks 12 ontraded 28 Motlop
In - Henderson & 14

Everyone wins IMO

No gtee as you might go deeper in finals
We might pay 600 for 2, then 400 for 3
Huh? Scott Selwood isn't worth $600k and if Geelong pays him that then I'd be extremely concerned as Geelong fans. I'd also be worried about the cap because if you're also getting Danger for $800k+ and Henderson on another $500-600k. That would be 3 players on more than Joel Selwood.
