This thread moves so fast I can't keep up. All I can say is thank god Yarran wants to stay put. 50 bucks says we went to them with a third rounder then laughed in their face when they wanted our 1st.
Bet he comes to Richmond now you've posted this. :D

Yarran makes sense because our number 13 is now the number for the recycled scrubber

What's that thing about Garland ages ago? Hope he doesn't get here.

So we went from being a lock for getting yazz to dodging a bullet, and went from itshappening.gif Tiger Treloar 100% to 0% in the space of what, 3 hours?

Don't agree with the dodging a bullet with Yarran unless the Blues seriously wouldn't part with him for anything less than a first, he's not worth that much.

And if Treloar seriously did a backflip on Cwood only to go running back a day or too later I'll be seriously upset. Love Treloar, gun player.

If we miss out on both of those blokes the only thing we have to look forward to is signing the Danger man...

Maybe true but who has actually moved that they have wanted? They got Burgoyne in 2009 and O'Rourke last year. They didn't want Greenwood or Adams, not sure about Caddy but the Cats were up and about when they got him. They got Frawley over cats and freo when he seemed destined to go to either one.

Who else has moved they may have got/wanted? I can't think of them losing out in the last 3-4 years except with maybe Buddy but they came out the other side pretty well.

The guys you've mentioned haven't moved so no point bring them up and Danger... well we will find out in month ;)
Was just an example that being successful or even looking like you are heading the right way doesn't mean players are lining up to come to you. Most move for home issues or better opportunities but the final key is the security & coin........very little else matters except the coin.

Probably lucky for the comp that Hawks are still relying on Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne & Lewis etc in the engine room but sooner or later a Treloar type will end up at the 1's & 2's

The difference in reactions to news in here is amazing. Someone drops news about Treloar wants us and it's all systems go celebrating. Mention Motlop wants to stay and it's a case of means nothing we can still get him . Yarran mentioned he'll stay at Carlton if they want him to stay and the same blokes saying Motlops news means nothing are celebrating dodging a bullet.

Nothing about trades is official until the clubs get together and agree to deals and announce them on their sites. So it might be wise for people to enjoy the next 6 weeks while we play finals and wait for trade week to happen before popping the champagne or threatening to go on rampages.

Take it from an old backpedaling campaigner, the interwebs has a long memory and your posts have a way of coming back to bite you.

Honestly, and in my uninformed, gut feel opinion (knowing you're likely trolling for lols):
Treloar: 60%
Yarran: 90%
Motlop: 1%
Kreuzer: 10%
Aish: 20%
Hall: 10%
Bennell: 10%

That is my point. If we hear nothing next week, then i will go from a semi hardon to a full raging hard on. It is funny, I know every man and his dog is saying he is off to the pies, but I was told straight after the AFL allowing advanced picks changed the ball game. What I was told and shared is pretty consistent as some even starting mentioning it in the media.

I know the pies are going hammer and tong, trying to sell the buckley connection etc but to me its all smoke. That is why I cant wait till the end of next week because it does my head in lol. I am like everyone else, i get excited, then shattered within 30 min when news shifts but I have heard nothing, from any credible source to change my mind.
But are you credible ?

I have said it many times before.

I honestly feel we are targeting an A-Grade player no one has even mentioned on here or in the media.
Its how we operate we are there to push everyones price up both salary and trade value meanwhile working hard behind the scenes in another corner.

We will look at bringing 3 player IMO.

1 A-grade (surprise)
1 Mid tier player (low trade value)
1 Diamond in the rough (its what we do best)

Ah well not to fussed if we miss out on all these big names - treloar, Yarran, Motor etc..
We are building something special via the draft and smart trading for mid range players.
Hope we are having a serious look at aaron hall though

Agree with the poster above. We've been doing a great job of building a team and future. We're still very young but we don't have too many holes in our list. Give it a few years and we will have even fewer, with our core and younger draftees starting to mature (McBean, Menadue, Ellis) plus we will snag more guys through free agency and rookie drafts that will slot into our line up. I have confidence that the club have a clear plan in place for the future and any big names we get will purely be a bonus. We have hit on nearly every top draft pick and every trade in the past 5 years (Hampson is 50/50 but played some fantastic footy earlier when Maric was out). No one outside the club gives us credit for this, but we all know how well we've done and we will continue to do so.

Ok so respectfully, did you just summarise a few of the more attractive propositions/rumours in these threads and take out the names?

PLAN A: Treloar and Tomlinson/Downie
PLAN B: Yarran and Kreuzer
PLAN C: Astbury for Aish
PLAN D: Hall
PLAN E: Bennell

amidoingitright?
Overall ....You only got three names correct on that list ........way off......remember there is 17 other clubs talking to each other alot of talking and possibilities but we still dont want to destroy our pay structure remember that .........just have to see what pans out........we will all know very shortly were we all stand as a club......just enjoy the finals and let the recruiters to their job DR & BG probably have statues build at Punt Rd ..........one day ........all tigers fans enjoy September .....:);)

Too true mate. Over paying players from outside is the worst thing this club can do, it erodes the trust of players inside the club and creates friction a within the group. This is a tight knit group who are willing to stay at the club for unders to get success - keep it that way
