Treloar is the exact type we are looking for, from the Club's perspective. As is Chris Yarran. We will trade ourselves out of this draft as we don't rate it IMO.

As a bit of a different one, what are people's thoughts on getting Andrew Phillips from GWS. I think he looks like a solid type, fairly injury-prone but would potentially be cheap

Trolling Pies fans is KB's favourite pastime. At least one journo believes it to be true.

We won't know what his decision is until the trade period or at very least until the end of the home and away season.
Incorrect.
KB's favourite pastime is trolling Carlton fans for 2 months constantly before round 1

People understand fine. He'll cost two first rounders, unlike Danger who is free and better. Bennell is more talented, quicker, more skilful and suits our needs better.
It will cost two of our first rounders. Which are going to picks 12-18 over the next 2 years. Treloar is equivalent to a top 3 pick who already has 4 years in him which makes him way more valuable to us than even pick 1 this year.
If we do a first rounder this year and next for him then its basically something like pick 12 and 15 for pick 1 (with 4 years of AFL experience and is guaranteed not to be a flop)
Say we keep the picks instead. They would both be what? 6-7 years away from their prime? If they make it, that is.
2 really solid, probably best 22 players that are years away from their prime. Or 1 gun that will play his 100th game next season and averages 27 disposals already while still being 3-4 years from his prime.

I don't think we can get both Treloar and Motlop, if we had to take just one of them, choice would be Treloar. Also explains why Yarran makes sense. Treloar and Yarran is viable trade wise.
But lot of water to go under the bridge and I won't get excited until I see any of the guys we are chasing wearing our media top doing a presser.

I heard it and thought he was anything but convincing.

Would love it to be true, but I’d be very wary. KB is all about KB. He loves to say sh*t and stir the pot in order to get attention. This would have been broken by someone else if it had legs, not KB. Not one single media outlet is running with it yet either.

KB's got nothing to lose by saying Teloar wants to join Richmond, because if he doesn’t get to us, he just says “ He wanted to go to Richmond, but he couldn’t get there, had to abandon his hopes, coz they couldn’t do a deal blah blah…..so I was still right…..blah blah…” He does this sort of stuff all the time KB.

Really hope it is true, but will just cool the heels until it has a bit more traction to it.
I don't think we will get him, but I can just about guarantee you no one id the media has a clue. One Bozo mentions Collingwood an then the next does until it compounds until someone like Ralphy says "Adam Treloar is a lock to Collingwood". I am convinced this is how majority of these bozos work.

If Motlop re-signs with Geelong, and we end up with Treloar and Yarran I'll be pleased with that.

If we do trade two first round picks for Treloar, it will seem likely we'll have to trade a player out to Carlton for Yarran. I'd dare say they'd ask for Astbury or Griff.

Ok this is for you brother, i want you to be moist.

  • Yarran- I believe from what I heard is close to being locked away, just we have to trade with the blues, thats the weakness. Yarran does want to come to our club ONLY. Everything else is just shit or trolls trying to rubbish us. Can we get a deal done without offering our first ? thats the key IMO. What I hear, club wont offer our first round, period. - He is one of the medium that can play forward and back with elite disposal i mentioned 4 months ago.
  • Motlop- I have shared this with a few. Everyone said weeks ago, he is a cat will be announced blah blah blah. What I have heard is that we made a serious play at mots. Offered 600k @ 5 years or a little over it. threw a major spanner in the cats works. Norf were never really in the picture. Cats held firm on 3 years so it looked like Mots was ours. From recent info i got that I believe, we will know in the next fortnight if we have done enough. I stated this to a few i trust about 2 weeks ago, so the mail is right as its all coming out now. Simply, I think the cats have blinked and will offer him either a flat 5 years or 4 years with a option for a 5th...if they do that he is theirs.
  • Treloar - We never have been out of the picture. yes the pies have the tools to get a trade done with GWS, better then us but we are still fighting the fight. That does not mean he is a lock of us but either does that mean we have given up the race.
  • A Hall - I mentioned his name about 4 months ago to a few on here i trust. He is still alive in the sense he still has not re signed. If he gets pushed out due to the GCS squeeze, we are set to pounce. Hope it happens
  • Bennell- he was another I heard 6 months ago, those I share with know that I have mentioned him prior to the drug scandal as one that we thought we might be able to pry away. All i know and the recent news I got was that we have our fingers in the pie so to speak but thats it. Movement on that will speed up at the end of the season imo.
  • Kreuzer- We always felt he would stay a blue and we still do BUT we have made it plain a long time ago, that we would love him. Thats all i heard about K
Now the above is just the ones i feel may happen. We do have our fingers in 3 other players from other clubs. I wont say them here, not even in PM's so dont ask :p. What I do want to say, is that Dan and the list management group have been seriously aggressive this season, and will be the same next season. We are well placed TPP wise to bring in talent.

To the haters, please dont make me regret posting the above lol :)
Awesome
Do you know how the club feels about our depth in the defensive half. We have KPD covered. But what about if guys like Batchelor and Grimes go down long term? Are we intending to draft guys around the 190-192 cm mark who can play those roles?

Agree. One of them has a guess, then the rest follow.

Can we start baiting these tabloid hacks with fake mail for the lulz? We need a code word in the thread title so we all know it's a stitch up.
Tiger71 Says we're getting .............

Given history we'd all know immediately.

Just caught the tailend on the news and Dimma was saying something about (denying) the big Cruize being on our radar. something like "this will be kept inhouse"

Agree I have no issue with his price tag $$$ or with trading to teen first rounders for a genuine gun. If we can get him then do it.

I still want Yarran and if we could get both then I think we are genuine flag chances next year. Use Griffiths to gain Yarran as we have heaps of KPF depth anyway.

Grimes Chaplin Batchelor
Vlaustin Rance Houli
Ellis Cotchin McIntosh
Edwards Vickery Deledio
Yarran Riewoldt Lennon
Maric Treloar Martin
C Ellis, Miles, Grigg, Lambert

EMG: Conca, Astbury, McBean, Menadue, Castagna, Hampson,

Stlll need to improve our depth, but that is a very very good 22 if I ever saw one.

It was just the usual bland Dimma presser - the conversational equivalent of a choke hold.
