Stevie J would have a bigger upside then say, Gordon or Lloyd (possibly a little harsh on Lloyd)

Btw, worth looking into one of Gorringe/Zac Smith/Nicholls, doubt Gold Coast will hold them all and they are all quite young still.
Gorringe I'd avoid at all costs, a head case from what I hear, Smith has been labelled soft from what I've seen at Gold Coast which isn't a ringing endorsement.

I'd prefer Lycett if we could pry him loose

Not sure if anyone has thought of this possible trade yet, but just occured to me. Sounds like dixon will most likely go to port, leaving a need for a tall forward in their list. Griff (as much as i love him) i feel has lost a lot of confidence in front of goal, not looking to those 50-60 metre kicks like he used to. Could there then be the oppurtinuty to trade him to gold coast and go for Bennell? He'll go dirt cheap and will add depth to pur mids

SimpleOTE="BILC, post: 40894218, member: 73242"]The problem with bringing in ruckman is, what do we do with Ivvy?

He's shown that he doesn't play well as a backup ruck or paired with someone else so what's the plan?[/QUOTE]
Simple you dont play him, ruthless but correct.

I think yesterday showed we need some real class. We can't keep plugging holes with B graders.

Zac Smith is 204cm...good size.
Thank you , and a big tick to all who could see last week we are f##king missing much needed class in our failed finals side. To all who had rosey coloured glasses on.
YOU WERE WRONG.

Do we just accept the current situation or adjust and get super serious about trelor or danger, ,surely its obvious what a huge difference either would make, especially danger, if anybody in our mid is on 600, , then danger is 900-1million in comparison; as hes light years better.

I think we need to consider making some hard decisions and trade out some quality to get back more quality.
This group just hasn't delivered when it matters. Conca/griff/batch etc...
Batch has had 1 bad game all year IMO.
He wont be traded unless we get a really good offer IMO.
Griff is defiantley tradable. Same with Conca.

Is grimes being discussed as a trade for Watts??

Surely this is wrong
Yes Grimes went against a team directive and attacked the ball/man yesterday. Unacceptable and a trade for Watts will help restore Club requirements.

So we should plug our holes with C graders then? Because if Zac Smith isn't a B grader then he's definitely not an A grader.
Didn't actually realise that Smith was already 25 years old, will be 26 at the start of next year
I've gone off him again, he should be at his peak about now, even as a late developer from taking on the game so late I'm not sure how much improvement he has left in him.
Gold Coast doesn't seem to be the best place for development at the moment though
We need Hartley to find us Maric 2.0

Lycett IMO.
Hampson could even turn out to be ok. He is definatley a better tap ruckman than Maric.

Well not to state the bleeding obvious, but we are desperate for another A grade mid. Cotch is always going to get the Tag so we need another.

Danger - costs nothing but $$$ - Screw the pay structure, sit the team down and ask them if they want a flag. Cotch can donate $100K of his wage.
Kruezer - Maric is cooked, tap on the shoulder, you are now our back up ruck or our bash and crash when needed, he is a good man and he would except it IMO - Now importantly and again, costs nothing but $$$

FA is the key IMO

Now to trade

Redden for Batch - Win / Win IMO
2nd rounder for A Hall
Griff or Astbury to Bris for their 2nd
Bris 2nd to Carlton for Yarran

Test the water on the following players, if the offer is good enough, take it.

Conca
Bean
Lloyd
Madonna

Ins

Danger - $800K plus outside endorsements . co captain maybe?
Kruezer - $400K
Redden - $350-$400K
A hall - $300-$350K
Yarran - $350-400K

All best 22 and fill a need.

I know its overly ambitious, but this is the kind of agression we need to show off field if we want to show it on field.
