We are like the old married couple with a shit load of life savings but never wanting to spend it and explore what the world has to offer before we kark it.
That's a great analogy actually. And it's funny, as a supporter group, we had bought into this "we're too good to pay overs". Well guess what, a 36 year old and Mr Potential (Waite) handed our arses to us on a platter (along with their midfield). We are gonna need to go against the grain and change the philosophy.
If we need 3 or so more players to lift the quality of the first 22 and we gotta pay, then we pay. We can't avoid it.

I'd be happy with O'Meara, however he is a huge risk. Apparently his knee injury is the worst one to do. Would have been better doing an ACL.
Yeah it is. Ruined me :cry::cry: Although its been 10 years for me I'm sure technology has changed.

Probably poor example. Was merely pointing out not getting Bennell isn't the end of the world, many more good players we can try and get.

Not getting any A grade talent at all to add to our list thats where I will get angry.

Yet if we recruited Waite there would have been some serious Meltdown on here.

It Witts is worth that or has been offered, then I guess if he doesn't want to go to GWS there'll be other clubs keen.
I'm doubting your sources though, starting to think someone's taking the piss out of you.
He doesn't agree with your claims about Treloar and someone is taking the piss out of him, if he backed everything you claimed, you'd be heaping praise on him over on the Pies board.

But you were saying he was going to do the right thing by his club so what happened there? Richmond offer is so much superior then what collingwood is offering.
Richmond has had 2 first round picks on the table from the get go and put plenty of work into Treloar. Pies needing a big name to please the masses and stop them questioning Figjams big plans not coming to fruition go and offer the farm ($100k more than us) to get Treloar to change from us to them. Problem is they didn't realise that we had the 2 first rounders on the table and now find themselves committed to getting him and have to somehow decide if offering up 2 potential top 10 picks is worth it. Especially when they want to land Aish as well. Unfortunately for them committing over $1mil to those 2 means no room for Kreuzer who they could really use, then there is the fact that Witts doesn't want out. Poor bastards are stuck between a rock and hard place.

But. But. But. He's the future!
Just needed half a dozen games in a row to adjust to the tempo of AFL and he'd have been fine.

Matthew Lobbe is a player id like to hear us linked to , he was dominating last year and if Paddy has taken his spot couldnt blame him for looking elsewhere
Reportedly off the table.

Surprised they could read, mate.
They have their carers read the posts to them.

DrMike any word on lennon/Grimes/Grigg signing on etc?
Grimes about to commit to a 3 year deal.

Comparison of Grigg vs Redden.

Both would play the same role in the team and whilst the stats and eye test does favour Redden, an upgrade in the form of Redden does not warrant a pick as high as 12.
Stats don't always tell the full story. Redden is much more inside than Grigg and his ability on the inside would free up Cotchin more, it would also free up Grigg to return to the outside hard running role he played in 2012.

I'd rather loose a elimination final knowing our list has 5-6 years of equalling or improving that performance rather than winning a elimination final and knowing it is the best we are going to be for 5-6 years.

Lolz, yeah, North are a chance to make a prelim two years straight (and i think you haven't looked at the age of their list and what is in their reserves properly) and we get bounced 3 years straight in elimination finals, and we are in a better position than them? Talk about misguided arrogance.
And you're comfortable thinking that we may equal this year? Yeah, great logic, let's do nothing and wait for that "natural improvement" to kick in. We've been waiting 33 years, what's another 4 hey?

Lolz, yeah, but, lets stick with picking up the Pettards, Knights and Hammers of the world. It's taking us places hey? And why did Waite kick our arse? Oh, that's right, our midfield got hammered. Our vaunted stars. But, let's not bust the chest open and get them the player they need, let's "moneyball" again.

Yes they do. They have KP's ready to go when Petrie and Waite go. And they have quality kids in there. Forget the BS about Majak and a couple of oldies, they have a strong list with depth.

No they definitely do in this instance. Redden is an inside player but not a great one, much like Grigg although slightly better.

There is a reason why Brisbane fans aren't bothered whether they lose him or not.

The best way to free Cotchin is to get a ruckman who can feed him the ball. Half of the reason he failed to rack up the ball on Sunday was he standing in a position where he could limit the impact of Goldsteins taps rather then win it himself. Just look at the combination of Sandi and Fyfe, feeds him the ball five times a game, which goes a long way towards Fyfe being the leading clearance player in the comp.

Moreover we have Vlastuin who I firmly believe should remain primarily as a rebound defender but he should spend small stints through the midfield, much like Hodge. If he does that we have more then enough options to play inside.
