So they bring the price down but wouldn't Carlton then be happy to match it then?
He's not unrestricted is he?
Could be wrong, but I thought he was? I reckon there's a bit to be played out with him. Pies need him to help assist them with the Treloar deal (Witts and first rounder to GWS), then they replace Witts with Kruzer.

Witts won't be used in a deal to GWS, they need picks not players, which is why our offer x2 first round picks is putting a lot of pressure on Collingwood.

Nah, he's not.
I would just love to nab Treloar against the odds now.

Very true. GWS need the points/pics to secure Hopper and Kennedy I think. These two have been mentioned in top 10 conversations with Gary Buckanara rating Hopper in the top 5 I think. Pies will need to come up with picks since we are offering two first round picks.

Hopefully we are still in it and at the very least we make the pies pay handsomely.

On other matters
- AFL Richmond Season Review mentions we are likely to part with our first pick for Yarran. GTFO. Pick 11/12 for a fringe player with suspect attitude and hamstrings is ridiculous. If we pay this I'll be gutted. Please tell me its a second rounder or nothing.
- Somebody mentioned we are into Jed Lamb. Any truth to this and what do people think? I haven't seen him play. Edit - just noticed people have already been talking about Jed Lamb. Raw numbers don't look great.

Agree boys. MT - Benny and Carro have thrown that pies deal under the bus, so it will be interesting to see the scrutiny on it. But, Witts is on the table as part of the offer. It is fair to assume the deal is more likely than not to go ahead at this stage. I am just providing a logic on what could be a very real possibility of a BS medical report by the pies in an attempt to land Kruzer.
TH - While I view the year as a bust, all is not broken, in fact the loss could actually be of benefit (in a twisted way) as it really highlighted some glaring deficiencies. We need a Danger/Treloar trade to get up and we need a ruck man, and we need a dude like Yazz for outside speed and polish.
We were the dickheads boasting about the warchest, now is the time to crack the prick open. If we need to pay some overs, so be it.

geez that would be a bad bad move first rounder for Yarran, he's not worth it.

That means automatic sackings in the footy dept.

No way Yarran is worth a first round. He is a FA next year FFS.

Lamb is just handy to if that

If the rumour is true (and I hope not), do you reckon there is something else in the deal which would see us part with the first rounder?

Agree re exposing our short comings. Need to be smart though in drafting and trading as we may have some improvement from within.
- Lennon - dangerous HF
- Menadue - outside speed (probably another couple of seasons away but showed plenty this year)
- Ellis - inside mid - high half forward

Pretty confident the club knows what we need after they targeted Armitage last year. If he'd been in our team on the weekend it would have made a big difference. Hopefully they have someone lined up.

Could we trade our 15 & 16 #1 picks for Bennell and JOM?
Bennell is a massive risk off the field but is a freakish tallent that we havent had at our club for years!!! He is worth our 1st pick this year.
JOM has big injury problems but has been compared to Judd. A good inside player and just as good outside. He is worth our 1st pick next year when its a better draft.
IMO it isnt impossible..
Espicially if JOM wants to come to Vic to expand his property portfolio....

Is Lamb a small forward? Interesting didn't know that I thought he played and looked like a back
seen him play a fair bit in the junior comps as he played with my mates kid through the grades and in the TAC.
Definitely a forward and very very clever.
However he just hasn't been able to bring it at the next level not unlike Mcdonough.

I doubt we would get that lucky. Obviously both players are damaged otherwise they are probably worth a top 5 & top 10 pick each. I don't think JOM's value has devalued to a mid first rounder.

So how do the Pies deal with it if they are caught out playing 'games' with the system? I'd reckon every other club would be very unhappy with them. Treloar might be back on. Explaining to the AFL, with other clubs looking on, how you land someone with a worse deal is an interesting thing to do. Even the AFL might be hesitant to tick something like this off. It could easily go very wrong for them. Hope we nail Eddie, his chins and the Pies.

Treloar is exactly what we need.

Where do I sign?

Seriously though no chance of happening. Would need to add in a Griffiths or better.

Reported on SEN that we are into Jed Lamb.
How utterly uninspiring.
However no quote or source from manager or club so grain on salt.

Edit- sorry calcium man for already posting

I heard this rumour a long time ago so maybe some truth
They have quite a few forwards and he can't squeeze in and he plays fairly well at lower level

Honestly I thinking he is a limited player not worth chasing. Just my opinion though.

He would use cap space stopping us chase better targets.
