Just my opinion but we need talls more than we do mids even though both are needed.
I sort of asked myself who should be up for trade, who is a free agent, who is not getting a real go at their club and don't look likely to get a go because of current competition within their side.
I think the following under the criteria are worth looking into.
Rucks
Jarrad Redden P/A 205/100 25yo Not getting a go. Lobbe and Ryder in front of him.
Scott Lycett wce 203/103 23yo. Not getting a go.Naitanui and Sinclair in front of him.
Stefan Martin BL 197/105 29yo. Has asked to be traded for family reasons.
Mathew Kruezer CA 200/103 26Yyo. f/a.
Of the four Kruezer is the stand out, not just in quality but price. Would dearly like to have a crack at Redden as well.
Tall defenders and kpds
Lachlan Henderson CA 196/96 26yo. A club will have to trade for him. He would be an improvement to just about every side including us.
Jake Carlisle ESS 199/104 23yo. A baby with his best in front of him. Who ever gets him will shore up a key defensive post for the next seven to ten yrs.
Tanner Smith FRE 197/96 21yo. Another baby who just keeps on getting overlooked for older more mature types.
Lachlan Keefe CO 204/100 25yo. I understand Collingwood will delist him. I would not hesitate to offer him a contract even though he will miss next year.
Lachie Plowman GCS 193/92 21yo. Lots of competition at gws, is a fine player would love him at the tiges.
Fraser McInnes WCE 197/95 22yo. Again just not in the picture. McGovern, Brown, and McKenzie will continue to keep him out. Dangle a carrot ffs.
Of this group I would go very hard at Carlisle. The thought of Rance and Carlisle in the one backline would make anyone drool.
Without going into it but some mids
Kerridge, Townsend, Trengove, Bastnac,
forward mids
Steve Johnson, AAron Hall, Bennell.
Tall fwds
Tomlinson, Spencer White,
Running defender Angus Litherland.
Then theres half a dozen in state leagues that i like.
