Sheridan from Fremantle. Lack of opportunities, and has a fair bit of ability. Won't cost the world, and has his best footy well ahead of him. Really extenuates the gap between us and the best, he would be an absolute walk in to our 22.

shiel - early first round + second
Round (easier if he wants us)

2nd
Rounder - vickery

2nd
Rounder - conca (maybe 3rd :( )

Dangerfield
F/A

leuenberger
/kreuzer
F/A

Would be my ideal situation. Unlikely to happen but would be stoked with this. If shiel selects us that should be enough. If not they may want too much.
This still allows us to take 5 draft picks.
I think with the amount of de listings im hoping will happen the 5 picks should be needed. try get best possible for conca and vickery. 2nd rounders i think would be good outcome. Doesnt address our need for a genuine small forward but allows us to rest a quality mid forward.

wishful thinking though.

If we can get Shiel and Dangerfield without involving Vickery and Conca, we should keep Vickery and Conca.

Ideally i would too. But i just get a feeling we should get the most for them now. especially ty. If he doesnt drastically turn it around in the next 12 months his stocks will be even lower.

It's a supposedly weak draft this year. Trading them out for 2nd-3rd rounders is not getting the most for them. Vickery should be played in the ruck, that's where his future lies. Conca is a good player, potentially very good. Certainly more value to us than another 18-year-old.

That would be stupid. Conca is better than anyone that we would pick up in the second or third round considering our recruiting. There is no reason to get rid of Conca. Yes he most likely won't live up to being a first rounder, but that is no reason to get rid of him as he is still at least a B-grader.

Conca could not be more valuable than a 18 year old all other things being equal. 18 year olds are more valuable because they have more years to play for RFC, further away from FA, and closer to their prime in our window.

But you would not trade Conca for a third rounder because his potential should be more than that!

I agree Vickery should be in the ruck far more

I like the idea of obtaining a gun Free Agent.

I like the targeting of Shiel. Thinks we need to land someone like him.

I think Crozier and Brandon Jack could be obtained from their respective sides and both would provide needs. If you don't know what needs, watch highlights of them both.

Sounds like a list clogger to keep the recycled production line going.

Rather we gave a chance to a pick like Menadue honestly

Have to ask the question why give Fremantle a free kick?

LOL! He would be a monumental upgrade on many of our starting 22. He's a 21 year old midfield first rounder, playing in a team with arguably the hardest midfield in the competition to crack into. He isn't exactly spudding it up in the WAFL either at the moment. The 1 game he did play for their seniors this year, he was very solid, before a minor injury forced him out. He would be an automatic starting 22 for us.

I see the need for absolute A grade quality, and believe we must secure it, with hopefully Shiel and someone of the Sloane calibre, but Sheridan could be another we secure swell, for much less than what he could potentially be worth.

If Sheridan is any good we can grab him for nothing in 4 years time via FA.

He is a 2011 draftee FFS and Blakely seemed to have passed him already on to the emergencies and we could have got him last year with a second rounder!:p

Mmmm 2011 draftee still finding his way. Think I will wait and see what he does then press the FA button if needed! In 4 years Freo will be rebuilding so he will want out of there if any good anyway!

Our current 22 is irrelevant!! Are we not focusing on building and developing for a premiership in the years ahead? Don't we have enough infill depth players already??

Wouldn't mind sheridan, but cost would be a huge factor. They did use a first round draft pick on him after all, so they obviously rated or rate him highly. Do like the idea of good mates playing together as well. Assuming it makes them, encourage and push each other to become the best footballers they can possibly be. We need to secure an a grade talent first though.

You keep talking about our "window" Magic but unfortunately, this is the only window I see....

When you keep taking short cuts like Carlton you never get to the window, I agree.

To reach a window you have to be brave and back the kids and draft in. Something some fail to do!

Agree that he would be a monumental upgrade in our best 22 as this wouldn't require much
However if he cannot get a game in a top four side under one of the best coaches then alarm bells start to ring as he may improve us , but yet again not enough to he competitive
Grigg pets Hunt Chaplin Thomas Morris so on so on are all players in this mould . They took us to 8th and that's it
I'm in for absolute A graders only bc I'm over battlers as its dragged on for too long
Saints are after Sloane I hear. If we get beaten to the line by them then I suspect the war chest is loaded up Monopoly money
