Fair chance to get a week at least.

Off the ball, clear punch to the ribs, Brown went off and out of the play while down which they take into sentencing.

This is a separate argument to the merits of how soft Brown is/isn't, the contact was forceful enough to take the wind out of an unsuspecting person.

Has he got carry over points?
If he does, I'd say 1 week. If he doesn't, maybe a reprimand?
The fact Brown stayed down and went off makes it look bad.

Didn't look much at all. Can't believe Brown could be so hurt by that
If you were standing there not expecting contact and got whacked in the guts, youd be doubled up as well. Everyone calling him soft need to reassess their own levels of hardness with a bit of honesty.
It was off the ball and deliberate, 2 things we all dont want in the game, just because its one of ours in Blair, everyone is calling into question Browns ability to take a whack. Take off the rose coloured glasses. Should get a week purely for the deliberate nature and off the ball.
But I agree its Chook Lotto with the MRP. Although I can see Abletts elbow today being assessed as "nothing to see here".

He was winded. It's like getting kicked in the nuts.
Can't call him soft.
No biggie, it looks bad at the time, be he was down for a minute or so then back in it again.

If someone whacked me in the guts when I wasn't expecting contact I would likely double up (although Blair's hit didn't even look that hard to be honest).

The bit where I am confused is why Brown was helped from the field and looked distressed on the bench.

I don't like the cheap shots in footy either, but no way should that sort of stuff deserve a week straight off the bat. Carry over points are there to stamp out repeat offenders.

I have seen a few incidents this year where it doesn't look like much but the player seems to be in pain.
For example
Yesterdays incident
Picken on Ablett
cant remember the player but one of the Sydney scum on Pendles in round 2

I am not sure how this post adds anything to the conversation. Just throwing it out there as an observation

Anyone got footage of the incident?

I don't mind Mitch Brown as he is obviously a twin to our Nate and he wrote a very nice tweet about Nate and his injury.

Yup this is the best example. It was Derickx and he got a reprimand for it. Won't be any worse than that.

Nothing to see here, move on.

You don't like cheap shots then say it doesn't deserve a week straight up?!?!?!
Any deliberate and off the ball incident should get a week. The MRP needs to get away from the taking injury into account and start handing out suspensions based on deliberate. Sick of seeing incidental contact get 2 and 3 weeks yet deliberate acts be deemed "low impact" and free to play.

He might get a reprimand and that's about it. Pretty soft by Mitch Brown I thought, barely got touched.
Saw the incident briefly on a replay, but didn't Brown elbow Blair first? So he kind of knew he was there and initiated first contact......not sure if it matters....

if it means anything, Blair is really good mates with the Brown twins
