MRP / Trib. Blair Reported

What a Joke. Hodge getting 2 weeks is very light and Fyfe Getting off is a Joke. He only got off because everyone has money on him to win the Brownlow
My main issue is Hodge, Fyfe probably deserved a week with his record. I'm a massive fan of Hodge but with his record and deliberately ramming Wingards head into the post, where a very serious injury could have resulted, surely 5 week down to 4 would have been more appropriate. Thee AFL is trying to stop head high contact yet we see one let of and another get only 2 week. Not a good look.

Just heard on the M's Blair got cleared
Hodge 2 wks
Fyfe no case to answer (surprise surprise)

Hey, the MRP made sense for once, Fyfe and Blair deserved to get off and Hodge's act deserved a suspension.

Fyfe hit him in the Head and Did not need to do it but Hey when everyone has money on you Winning the Flag. You can get away with just about Anything.

Hodge is lucky to get 2 weeks for his Dog Act

Blair is Lucky the AFL is being Linnet this week. Thought would got a week

Fyfe should get a fine, the difference between Blairs and his, is even though they are both reckless, Fyfe took his eyes of the footy, Blair didn't.

I know we all like to criticise the MRP but one thing which has pleased me this year is that players are not getting ridiculous penalties for accidental contact. Fyfe didn't deserve anything for his action. İt was just two guys going for the ball. Blair didn't deserve anything. Brown only got one week for his hit which is fair enough. As bad as it was it wasn't intentional.
I hate players getting rubbed out for accidental contact. Sure get rid of players for thug acts but let's not go crucifying players for accidents. The length of suspension for Sidebum and Fyfe last year were over the top IMO. Personally I don't think Fyfe should have even been suspended last year.
The AFL has done a good job cleaning up the game. Last year they were starting to go a bit over the top. This year they seem to be acting a bit more conservatively which is good.

Hodge's suspension was definitely not long enough though

Fyfe was probably slightly lucky but the actual contact above the shoulders was pretty minimal, no case to answer is fair enough imv. Hodge can count himself very lucky that chingard wasn't badly hurt. Dirty act

Fyfe already fined twice this season, a third fine would actually become a suspension.

With his record of deliberate attempts to injure opposition stars, Hodge deserved a very long suspension for yet another example. Blair and Fyffe were just playing football.

Exactly right. Blair and Fyfe going hard at the ball, Hodge deliberately trying to injure a player off the ball after a whistle has been blown. The exact sort of behaviour that should be discouraged

Good result.

Makes him available for vfl selection next week.

He has just been too wasteful in front of goal the last 2 weeks. For a player that doesnt get it much, he has to nail these shots

Don’t we need our Best Players for the VFL Side;)

And should have been one. Obviously wasn't bad enough to normally draw a suspension but under other circumstances he would have 100% been fined IMO. They're just avoiding a PR scandal when he can't win the Brownlow even though he polls 40+ votes.

Blair must play in the firsts for the next 2 games, how else would we get a early second round pick for him on the trade table?

Watch this post, he will be traded

Fyfe did not deserve suspension. He is a maniac going for the ball, but going for the ball is the whole story with him. Any damage he does is inadvertent. A charge should be considered only when his ferocious attack on the ball actually does some harm. It is just not in the same category of the thugs whose first thought is to do some injury. They should get no consideration, or benefit of any doubt.

With that logic, let's drop the entire side.

So surprise with Hodge, he was always going to get off lightly.

Hodge should have gotten 4. It was deliberate and with absolute Malice.
Blair should have got off and Fyfe should have not even been free kicked.

I think the Hodge suspension was about right.

Hodge never intended to hit him in the head, he intended to bump him into the fence, but Wingard ducked and braced himself for the post, so Hodge got him high.

2 weeks is fair.

Fyfe's was a free kicks because he just nicked the North players head.

I argue if the Blair one was even a free, I mean Blair actually got the ball first, how can you actually give away a free when the opposition player's head runs into your shoulder?
