DeBoer is from Perth, can't see why he would want to leave anyway as long as Freo want to keep him. Lyon has no problems with players that can't kick.
Adelaide wouldn't let go of Sloane.
West is a dud IMO
Hansen - why do we need a KPF, should be developing Griffiths up forward. He is a bit of a Shulz.

?? Can't agree with that now. He's been at Geelong for six seasons now but has finally established a spot for himself as the resting ruck, he is a genuine albeit slightly smaller (199 cm) ruckman who has a good leap, but importantly he can go forward and kick a goal or two and also defend as he's played many reserves games as a CHB.

But i reckon just look for blokes with talent who don't get much of a go at other clubs. McAffer is intruiging, premiership player last year but got injured and i think blokes like Fasolo and co have puched him out.

For what it's worth, and i know he wouldn't qualify on this list...apparently Chris Dawes is uncontracted for 2012. But the Pies would probably want plenty in return.

On Taylor Hunt, he was pretty much a regular in the seniors until doing his knee mid-season. Pity as he had established a senior spot. Hope he comes back next season as good as before.

Dawes is another trade bait sucker punch Tarrant style. The team around him makes him look good, little leap and no value. Definite pass

So all those elite Collingwood mids and backmen help Dawes take so many contested marks under pressure Mr Magic. Last year with out injury he was one of the top 3 centre half forwards in the comp. He'll be going no where because of this and you my friend talk a bit of poop every now and then.

Do you think Blair is chasing a small forward ?

We all know he is chasing a ruck and a key position back but what 40-50 goal a year small forwards do you think would be on the market?

I'm hoping Diddy Mac steps up next year after another pre season . That or Troy Taylor or Relton Roberts decide to come back.

Your opinion would be far more informed than mine as I'll admit I haven't seen a lot of him.
Playing in a gun team may make him appear better than he would be in ours, but from your testimony he sounds like an upgrade on current stock.

Have we signed a sponsorship deal with Hungry jacks and BWS?

Re: Do you think Blair is chasing a small forward ?

Small forwards are definitely in the 'nice to have', not 'need to have' bracket.

We can play King or Nahas as a small forward if we have to.

We need insurance for CHF and Ruck. If we want to get cute with a small forward, lets leave it until the rookie draft.

Re: Do you think Blair is chasing a small forward ?

Just on Hansen there is no way North would accept our compo pick. In bigfooty world you might not rate him but internally at North they would still be pretty confident of him being a part of there long term future and therefore we would have to overpay to get him.

If we got him I would have him play CHB but not completely confident that he will flourish at either end...

True; but most of the time they've been shoving off the likes of Davenport/Callan/Playfair/Prismall (early 20s fringe player) to keep the (unseen) kids. No-one's ever really got one over them.

Wouldn't mind Shane Mumford on the list.

Mumford is untouchable I would think. However it seems that Sydney are interested in Jackson. Wouldn't mind a straight swap - Jackson for Seaby. Would be our #1 ruck and can go forward.

Agree that promising looking players from strong clubs may be a lot closer to average at our club. The context of the talent around them is a factor. I think Macaffer is a player that could be worth a look. Was outstanding in 2010, but injury has shot his 2011 and there does seem a few options at Pies for his role. I wonder if the change to interchange has impacted on him. Needs to be a bit more versatile and be able to go through midfield.

Wouldn't mind Macaffer either, got brilliant size for a mid and can go forward. An improvement on Morton for sure, and would be better pick-up than Grigg
