1.Richmond - Unlikely to pick anyone of note if at all. (Might pick up a kid missed in draft) due to salary cap. Unless they can offload Zantuck but then they have a youth policy.
2. Hawthorn - I don't know about the Hawks. If Knobel or Porter is around they might pick them up but they also have room for the Carrot Seller. Unlikely to do this however with their youth policy.
3. WBulldogs - If McGough doesn't go in the draft Bulldogs will most likely pick him up or not use their pick at all.

From all reports Richmond and the Bulldogs are out of it. But I'm a bit worried about Hawthorn. They've been very quite in this and surely they'd have the room in the Salary Cap with their list.

Rumoured today that Richmond are interested in Antoni Grover from Freo.

That could help us get to Blake.

I'd happily take Grover if we missed out on Caracella for wahtever reason.

Question, if Zantuck went into the draft and put a low price on his head would we take him?

They have been quiet. But they did fight Joel Smith over his contract, so they might be struggling more than we'd expect and it's not like they've gotten rid of anyone especially expensive. Holland on mega bucks, as well as resigning a bunch of kids, plus Spider, plus Crawford & Hay. They simply aren't in as good a position as us.

That said, they might well have $250K up their sleeve. Strange they haven't even said anything about any mooted PSD player!

What youth will Hawthorn go with? They have young players that are crap already. There aint much decent youth in the PSD. If there was I'd be wanting us to target it ahead of a Carracella type.

Hawthorn must have some cap space from offloading Thompson, Graham and few others. Particularly Thompson who would have been on very good money. They also still have plenty in the bank. I suspect that if they don't take a profile player it has more to do with back room deals in trade week than cap issues.

hotpie, I don't mind Zantuck as a player. He is no star but he has some grunt and perhaps a bit of that c word we lack on our list. The problem is he is disliked at the club. If he was the player he is and a popular person I'd like to get him. I really couldn't care less if he likes a drink and is a bit irresponsible with a car. But if he is disliked we just don't need the problems at our club.

Just for a bit of lateral thinking, why don’t we go to Essendon and do a deal re Blake. they apparently want him. If so, how about we pay him $350k on the proviso we trade him to Essendon for their first pick in 2005 and they pick up a low pay for him based on out overpaying him in 2005. It’s a way to use our cap space and get an extra first round pick in 2005. Meanwhile he could still be the same contributor in 2005 for us that he would other wise be. we wouldn't be sacrificing anything. If we had to dump Williams to fit him into the list then so much the better.

Why would a team in rebuilding phase take Caracella? Hawthorn picking him up makes little sense. It might happen but I doubt it, they need youth and a lot of it. The last thing they need is a bloke who will be retired in four years.

Once famously complained he should be paid at least the same as James Hird as he was as least as good a player (NOT).

Is a great front runner

Enjoy

How many flags have Essendon won since he left?

We have nobody (except bux) who can skillfully deliver the ball into the forward line with clinical execution with ANY CONSISTENCY.

Caramello may be soft but he can deliver the ball into a forward line in a classy manner and he can get straight when he shoots for goal.

All season we watched inept delivery into the forward line, or chipping it around ceaslessly on the 50 metre arc.

He does possess one major skill we ARE in need of.

If I remember we were in the running for Caracella and Woey back in the PSD a few years ago, but we didnt pick up cara for money reasons i think. Don't remember. Maybe it was MMs plan all along (dun dun dun duuuuuuun) lol i dunno but if we get cara ill be more then happy

I'll venture to say that Didak can deliver the ball consistently (see last Carlton game), but hasn't been given enough run in the wing/midfield and he has a tendancy to drift in and out af games.

And it's not just the delivery, it's actually having someone there presenting accross half forward. It'd be nice to have Richards fit and Blake in the team, to have Roges and Carrot providing linking options accross the forward flank instead of bloody O'Bree!

Here's hoping it happens!!
