Just throwing this one up for discussion.

Chambers IMO has had plenty of chances, usually through injury. Hasn't really stamped himself on the side although is an honest trier.

Blake is the up and comer. Admittadly i havent seen a lot of him in the 2's but when i have he looks as if he will be an ok player. He has more potential than Chambers.

So when do we give Blake a go as there is more upside to him than Chambers.

I reckon put him in the side an see how he goes.

Thoughts.....

OK, I'll bite.

I see Chambers as a much better option this year. He always gives his all and his second efforts are great - can remember a fair few spoils and tackles from past games.

Blake is still underdone and needs time to bulk up and work on his play around the ground. Imagine him against Everitt.

I'd drag out the old cliche about big fellas taking longer to develop.

Disclaimer: I have only seen Blake play a couple of times.

Not looking for bites just meaningful discussion.
Anyhow, i reckon Blake is nearly as big in size as Chambers. What i have seen of Blake is that he has good 1%ers. Thats all Chambers really gives us (plus a few other things not to be to harsh, coz i do like hm as a player).
Throw the kid in i say see how he goes, to see where he is at.

I have said this in another thread.

This weekend, now, is not the time for
throwing a kid in to see where he is at.
It is time for whoever is next in line. Okay so for overall footballing future, Blake may have it over Chambers, BUT, right now Chambers is better. So in you go tiger, do us proud, step up to the plate etc etc you never know this may make you a career.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR WINNING. Not experimenting with our list. JESUS...when did everyone turn into Grant "its coming along" Thomas?

Thats a fair point

I think you guys are misleading the cats supporters who can't watch the reserves. Blake is soft as butter & will not pick up his man. He hangs out of the packs and runs off his opposing ruckman looking for cheap kicks. I would be suprised if he ever plays a senior match!

Are you that guy that went to school with Blake and has a grudge against him?

No, that is Nana, Tweak Talent & possibly someone else also

Rkid.

I've seen a lot of VFL this year, thought at the start of the season hed make a go of it, but he is so soft. If people are frustrated with the way Kent goes about things, then be prepared to start ripping your hair out with Blake.

*awaits for phat to come in and tell us we are all wrong*

The coach does not tell him to run off. You normally see him benched or put down the forward line again when the other ruckman stats picking up possesions. He often only rucks for 5 mins a quarter, why? ask the coach.

Is an ok tap ruckman but he falls down with his around the ground work and his inability to contest and go in hard at the ball.

Thanks guys, will respect the general opinion on the board. Bit of a worry as hardness at the ball is something you can't teach.
