Hi all, finally got round to signing up for this forum- hey to buzz, thrawn, and a few other people i recognise from the old WCE website forum (am i the only person who think the new page kinda bites???)

Anyway, i was thinking that all things considered, it isn't really that bad that we didn't make the Wizard Finals... The way i see it, we won two out of three games, tried out a heap of youngsters, and seemed to get the first few signs of winning culture back in the team. If we played in the finals series, worsfold would be tempted to play cousins and other guys who could really benefit from another fortnight's rest before the season. This way, we'll be going into round one with a little more experience for our rookies, but also with a rested, confident, and fit nucleus of players ready to win some games.

Couldn't agree more, although it would have been nice to see them run around for a couple more weeks. ( I've stll got the lingering effects of a footy withdrawal over the summer )

Yeah, I thought that the West Australians headline 'Eagles Agony' was a bit over the top. I'm betting the players couldn't care less.

The two wins will do wonders for the players confidence and club morale, and now we've got a couple of practice matches where we can give Cuzz, Milli, Gards a rest while getting much needed match fitness into Glass, Embly, Williams and Fido.

Then we'll be all set for a Dorkers thrashing in Round1.

P.S. Yes, the new WCE page does indeed suck.
Although I do like the articles written by Gary Stocks and Andrew Carter.

Eeeep! my nick has nothing to do with port, dangcussit As a matter of fact, my usage of this nick predates ports existence as a club, at least, thats my story and i'm sticking to it.

Buzz- as a matter of fact i was just a little thrown by the total disappearance of the forum, the least they could have done would have been to let us know.. ah well, thems the breaks

Welcome and yes im also happy with the way things panned out, won 2 games, got some confidence, played the youngsters and now we get a rest and a couple of praccys before we crush Freo in round 1.

I actually wanted us to make the semi's, even though theyre not real "finals" it wouldve given the younger players in our side a bit of exposure to play under pressure in big games - but no harm done i guess
