Is Malcom Blight the right coach for the Saints?

While he certainly has a impressive record (5 grand finals, 2 flags), there are some other aspects of his coaching CV that have not been given due consideration.

1) His record clearly suggests that he is not in coaching for the long haul.
2) His recruitment record is far from flash.

While Blight (if he becomes coach) may have some short term success, I would think that St kilda needs sustained success to ensure their survival. Blight's record suggests that this will probably not occur.

Therefore, considering the amount of money they are prepared to invest in him, is Blight worth it??

Blight will be a great pick up for the saints

Considering the job that the saints recruiting staff have done this week I dont think that will be a problem.

If they dont want him we will have him back.

If he doesn't coach us, he can take a lot of the credit for the clubs effort in recruiting.

If he was to accept the job, it would be the first time that we had ever recruited a coach of his calibre.

Blight also knows that his place in history as one of the greatest coaches of all time will be assured if he was to take St Kilda to a premership.

Whatever happens, I am feeling a hell of a lot better than I was a week ago.
