Will Jarrad Blight play much football this year?

Will he play in NAB Cup?

Good replacement for Toovey or Leigh Brown?

Round 1?

i reckon he'll play a couple of NAB games. might get a run in the seniors later on if we cop some injuries. next year will be the year where he comes in calculations imo. still building his body and learning the game and needs to find the ball more often. but otherwise looking good, i'm a big fan.

Toovey, replace Toovey, why don't we replace Maxwell, Presti and Harry why we are at it.

Toovey was an integral part of the second best defense in the AFL last year.

But as far as Blight goes, I can see him playing senior football early this year, but not unlike Sidebottom last year, Blight will come on "hard" late in the season.

I see him as a potential mid though, not so much a half back, which is probably a good thing given we have more then enough options for half back flankers (Toovey, O'Brien, Maxwell, Shaw, Goldsack, Buckley etc).

You have to treat Blight as if this is his first "real year" as an AFL player, as last year he was a bottom aged player who was always going to struggle early on, yet he developed quicker then expected in the VFL finals.

Ok well Leigh Brown he can definately replace him
Blight can play KP forward, defense and relief ruck?

Leigh Brown gets replaced by reid, nate brown, dawes, rusling, jolly, fraser, wood.

I said when Blighty was first drafted in 2008 he would be the pick of all our draft picks and that still is the case. He will play senior footy this year early on, maybe even round 1. Watching him play VFL last year he was super impressive, and l know that the Collingwood coaching staff are wrapped with him.

Love the Tooves. Blight needs to improve his decision marking. He's a go getter but needs to give and go like all tall skinny guys and find space. He rushes his kicks because he tries to do too much.

Will debut, won't be a permanent fixture.

That is about Right. He will play NAB Cup and I might even get a Go in RD1 but I just don't see him playing all 22+ Games, I think 13+ Games is a Reasonable Target

Kid's still a good year away from permanently replacing someone in the 22.

He'll debut this year, but it would only be injury that keeps him in the side in the long run IMO.

I agree with that he is a year away from being a Permant 22 but he is in the Mix for playing in the 22

I'll take a $10 as well.

Odds of him being selected on form over other options when everyone is fit is highly unlikely, but is still less than 100-1. A freakish NAB campaign is not out of the question. With no injuries he is more like a 20-1 shot, given how many are in the squad. No where near 100-1.

Include a few normal amount of injuries, a bit of luck and good form in the Cup, I would never lay more than about 8-1.

Yep, agreed. I don't think Blight will play Round 1 either, but I'm more than happy to take 100-1.

The odds of two half backs getting injured for round 1 are less than 100-1 I'd say, and Blight is a good chance to debut if that happens.

Do we have a deal favourites?

Two half backs? He's been playing wing at every training session I've been to. He is a fair way behind in the selection table... Mick will pick MaCaffer, McCarthy, Goldsack, Buckley, Barham before he will pick Blight.

Whether you get 100-1 or 20-1 it makes no difference if he isn't going to play.

That sounds like an agreement on your end then. I'm expecting to part with my $5, but it's worth it for a miniscule chance at $500, so it's all good.
