like everyone on this board i don't know what malthouse and buckley are thinking but i would assume he would get a game in the NAB cup and then be used in the season as a rotation player at best. i.e come in for an injuried player or to give someone a rest towards the end of the year.

Revisit this after a couple of NAB cup games.
Then a market will emerge. But as so many have said, no way will he play bar massive injuries. Buckley or even Corrie will get a go before him early on.

Corrie? No way. Blighty was an emergency for a few games late last year, it shows he's at least in the selection committee's thinking (perhaps even moreso after a solid preseason now). Granted we had a few injuries then, but he's got to be ahead of Corrie in the pecking order.

Totally agree, I just think he maybe given a go to find out what he can produce at senior level in the last year of his contract.

No Dave, all I meant was let's see if he's got anything to offer.
We will have invested 2 yrs in him, so let's just see. Of course this depends on NAB or VFL form.

Agreed - how can you compare a skinny teenager who has never played a game to a guy who was, for mine, the best medium/tall defender in the business for probably 5-6 years?
