Because we use handball after handball as the first option leading to a panicked kick. Cats first option all day was to kick it. When they tried hand balling it we applied pressure and turnovers resulted.

Pressure, fatigue - leads to poor decisions/poor execution.
All sides do it, but with our lack of marking options we're almost resigned to opposition repeat I-50's.

I'll defender Brando on the set ups here.
In the last 10 minutes he turned it over from kicks in 3 times. But fmd he went up the guys and every time our team wasn't set up for it.
He had to do it because it was the closest avenue to goal.
The biggest concern is how we don't have a competitive set up for this play!!!

We shouldn't be blamming the team 100% here, most of the time we had them tackled and the umps just yell play on.
Play on, are you kidding?
We had them multiple times and they made no effort what so ever to get rid of it.
Games should not be played at Gumby oval anymore if the umps can't officiate fairly.

We handball because we don't have tall targets so kicking long is silly.
The narrow ground had us running into brick walls all day.

Biggest brain-fade kickers in the team?.......Brando and Houli. (I shudder everytime they try to pick out a target AND BOTH never have any confidence so their first option when they look up, is to look sideways)

Handball, run thru the lines or make a contest forward for a nearby crumber and you're having a shot.

To quote the Geelong coach it's important we don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
We have to stick at what we have been doing all year.
We won't play on a ground like that for the rest of the season so just stick to the process.

I hope we are planning to grab at least 1 tall from another club. A realistic pick up would be Gunston. Straight swap for Miles. Maric, Hampson, Elton and Moore should be going

I agree with the sentiment that we were squeezed up, forced into the dump kick, which was easily picked off by their spare defender. Geelong have been excellent at winning the ball back at half back for a decade. They set-up to do that to us, and we did it.
This is the primary reason that I won't believe we are a genuine chance. Contested marking forwards are VERY handy in close, high pressure games ie finals.

Not sure of the stats, we certainly do seem to get outmarked consistently in contests.
