'We want to be the next Nike or Adidas' - sportswear brand

:tearsofjoy:

They're already the next Adidas in that they do their own thing bugger the clients branding.

A club source on the Saints board said that this is going to hit us pretty hard financially. We'd obviously been shopping around for a better deal and landed on BLK, knocking back other companies. Now, though, we'll be scrambling to get a new deal done for 2017, which companies will take advantage of and offer us unders.

I think that what we might see is us wearing BLK until we can reach a reasonable agreement with another brand. Does that mean we wear BLK for the pre-season and then switch before the season? Does that mean we wear BLK for a few rounds and then wear something completely different? Who knows. The only item that's been sold to the general public so far has been the home jumper.

I'd love to see us in Asics or New Balance. Puma and Adidas would be cool but probably a long shot. Just please, for the love of god not COAR.

You'd be loving life if the Tiges actually get Puma. Seriously elite gear that they make. Also pretty exciting that a kinda big name brand is back in the business.

Have a look at the black on these guernseys - quite nice

Bloke on the Tiges board saying a mate that works at Adidas told him Richmond to Puma is 90% done
I'd like to see how they manage those two stripes down the back and where they cross the Richmond sash.
Maybe they could do them like they've done the wings for 2016.

I'm praying for no sash on the back and the return of yellow numbers . wouldnt that be something

Also I hope the sash on the front is as thin and curved as the BLK one. That's about the only good thing that BLK did with our guernsey

My old BLK account manager that left them 12-18 months ago sent me an email for his new mob, Zoo Sports at 5pm yesterday.

I think he's had that email ready to go for awhile now!

I must say I had a bit of a laugh reading the Facebook comments on the BLK article that the AFL posted. Every second bloke on there is promoting his own manufacturing business! It's crazy how many there are at the local level, which makes you wonder why BLK, ISC and to a lesser extent Puma even feel the need to get involved.

I haven't loved Puma at West Coast or anywhere else, but that could stem from decisions made by WCE and not Puma themselves, but there have been several poor design issues in the past from them.

About 400 times better than BLK though, and the colours will be deep and vibrant. That's one thing they absolutely nail on WCE kits.

Puma's off-field gear is ...uninspired, design-wise. But their jumpers are comfy and they have implemented our now-excellent design very well.

Uninspired isn't really the worst thing for offfield gear. Beats the "inspired" crap that some clubs bring out.
