A few things to consider:

1. If BLK trade while insolvent, it's going to be a lengthy court battle for them, so if they are found to manufacture to meet demands whilst in a position of being unable to survive, there'll be a lot of trouble (this was one of the allegations made against Ansett, if anyone remembers them)

2. If BLK were to be bought out, by another brand for instance, after already having gear made, we'd probably see heat pressed logos over the BLK stuff, sort of like when Dick Smith went under and the BBL team (Melbourne Stars?) had Optus pressed over it.

3. Depending on when gear has been manufactured, we could see some teams wearing "redundant" gear for this season, like when KooGa and BLK co-existed, whilst others that haven't had their contractual obligations met (likely to be the Saints as they were very recent) might be free to exit within a grace period or receive some compensation and move on to someone else.

4. Any business winding up is never a good thing. Jobs are lost, competition weakened and choice is compromised. BLK offered many clubs (relatively) high quality sports gear at a very competitive price. While we are all hardball on colours, the Anytown Tigers probably don't care if the gear isn't tattered and falling apart. Just keep in mind that good business depends on competition (imagine if QANTAS didn't have Virgin after Ansett, look at how WWE was after WCW fell, and how much Super League innovated the NRL), and if competition disappears, businesses have no reason to invest in upgrading their processes.

I'd take a guess we'd make a clean break and move onto someone else. No point us starting with BLK now.
Training gear was a couple of days late and obviously then didnt tell imus they were cactus. Let's donthe afl and in particular the tigers a favour and sue em, you know 'tell em to get stuffed'

What ever happened to Hummel. I think that's was the name didn't they team up with richmond prior to kooGa

Sucks for the Fijians, but weren't BLK making their player issue stuff in Queensland? When did they move production offshore? Or was that just the fan merch produced in Fiji?

So glad West Coast are with a big, international brand who produce fantastic quality playing kits and merchandise.

Love Puma.

But seriously, Jesus BLK. Too many eggs in one basket. When they pay all of these clubs more than everyone else, and pay 6 clubs who want heaps of money in just the one league, this was bound to happen. And then you begin to count their everyone else and it becomes obvious. The WRFL, the Umpires, AFL NSW/ACT etc. Bloody hell.

That was a one year deal in 2006
