I SERIOUSLY hope we're the ones looking for a new supplier. Given our contract with them is closest to expiring, at the end of this year, we may well have been in talks with BLK or otherwise. If we were talking with another supplier, that would make it really easy to say 'hey what do you reckon about starting this year instead?' And firing out some stuff real quick.

Or it could just be wishful thinking taking over

I would have thought if the company can't pay their sponsorship deals clubs would have to find new partners, even if 2017 gear is done.
Saints put out a statement they expect to be in BLK in 2017

It sounds like the year's supply of jumpers has been delivered, or at very least Home, Away and where applicable, Third.
Hopefully (for me at least) this means no Anzac, Indigenous and One-Off jumpers.

However, it's the lack of merchandise that clubs will find a problem.
Supporters won't be able to buy a polo for Christmas, or the same singlet the players wear for their own footy preseason etc.

Pretty sure RFC didn't get their 2016 PI's till late Jan this season

I'd say that the club is expecting it's pre-christmas merchandise order to be delivered i.e. the stuff the club has already paid for, whether they'd ordered a full season worth of player-issue jumpers might be an issue, they may only have received samples that they could use for media work and not one for every player. I wouldn't be surprised if the club was scrambling to make other arrangements just in case.

I'm hoping some clubs (ie. Richmond, GWS) join ISC. It's so good being with ISC because they're so reliable. I bought the 2016 home jumper with standard delivery and got it in 2 days. Plus the end of year sales are brilliant. In the past two years I've bough 5 proper jumpers and lots of training and other things mostly after the season because you can get everything half price.

So have they photoshopped ISC out or BLK?

WRS Australia own BLK worldwide - they used to license the KooGa brand name in Australia but gave it away because the royalties they were paying became too high. Hence the change in name to BLK (which originally stood for Black Label KooGa when they started it).

Do people think this is BLK everywhere - or just the Australian branch?

They make stuff for UK teams as well.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the suppliers with only one club to really ingrain themselves into the Aussie market (Mainly NB, Nike and Puma, but Asics also). As much as I like ISC, they've got their fair share of clubs already. Don't know how realistic it is, but I rather the AFL not become a one brand league.

Depends on the cash component I'd say. If its contra only, or a cash & contra deal and the cash has already been paid (not likely this early I wouldn't think), then as long as BLK have provided the full 2017 merchandise order, the clubs would probably have to honour it. You would think though that at this stage, there is no way that a full complement of merchandise could have been supplied (including gear for sale to the public).

If there is cash still outstanding, then clubs would be within their rights to terminate the deal and sign elsewhere.

Surely clubs can't run around wearing a manufacturer that no longer exists. You'd think there will be some sort of reimbursement or settlement and clubs just move on.

Can all the PIs be done by now anyway? Still got draftees to finalise.

This is what I think would be the case. Any merchandise thats already been delivered would only be training gear, staff attire and pre-Christmas merchandise for sale in the club shop. I can't see the full complement of gear being supplied already (lists haven't been finalised yet, so jumpers can't have been made), and I can't imagine club shops would order a full seasons worth of merchandise in November.

Black Label Kooga sounds like the sort of shit scumbags would buy for $28 a four pack at BWS.

There's nothing colour electrical tape won't fix. Just tape over it. Reminds me of the Bulldogs and the Strathfield/Camp Quality saga in 2010.
