The only thing I can say is that there is too much separation in our forward line - when we’ve got no one who looks like taking a contested mark then stop trying to kick it there.

I’d play buddy off a wing and Reid and mccartin as our talls

I’d drop ronke and play mcinenery who actually seems to know how to pressure opponents.

Because buddy is playing off a wing I’d only kick it to him if free.

We are good enough to win these games but our forward line is completely dysfunctional and our midfield are spending so much time trying to spot a mark they are losing it over and over

some very selfish acts by swans players in that half. worst of all was ronke. rowbottom wide open and he's only thinking of keeping his place in the side. KJ wanted some may on his 250th but never had the capability to make that early shot. there is something clearly wrong with the culture in this side. mills doesn't even look interested and who can blame him when the coach is sacrificing his career.

Our midfield is so slow as well. They don't want to take the first option, always second guessing themselves.

Did he make him this slow? :D
The world is full of junior football champs that didn't make it far in the professional ranks. He might be one of them. Gets a guernsey on determination and guts - good reading of the ball in flight - but to be a champ at this level you also need athletic gifts he just doesn't possess IMO.
We'll just have to settle for a solid trier I think - not a lot to do with Horse (though he is a pretty ordinary tactician)

On a side note I actually do have to laugh at how many simple marks our players drop, particularly easy ones off 15m kicks.

When you have so many players at your disposal who aren't skilled by foot and drop easy marks, why would you want to play a possession short kicking game style? Do the coaching staff not understand the skill-sets of players at their disposal?
Surely you wouldn't come out using the same tactics in the 2nd half?

Are you kidding? Ronke is not finding the ball but pressure is certainly being applied!

Longmire has never even given Mills a chance in a position he is actually good at. Longmire refuses to let Mills even near the midfield, where he actually was very good. Mills is playing like he has lost hope.

I'm not gonna blame everything on Longmire. The players are not executing basic skills. Full stop. But at the same time I don't think players have any confidence in the gameplan and themselves. They just keep on hitting brick walls and it gets turned over the other way for a goal. Its energy sapping you know?
