Richo has put on all that extra beef so he can become a stronger, stay at home wrestling Full Forward.

So what do we see, 5 minutes into the first quarter?

Richo on a 100 metre lead from the goal square right out to the wing at top pace like he did when he was a 22 year old... and pulled a hammy!

He didn't even have to break stride; he just kept on going off through the interchange gate.

How obvious was it that this was going to happen?

What acrock of ****e! Dont tell me you knew he was going to pull a hamstring just because he ran to present himself as an option up the ground. That type of injury can happen anywhere and it was just a case of bad luck that it happened. In case you hadnt noticed football is a running game and hamstring injuries occur more often than any other injury because of the type of running involved in a game.

Should have been traded a couple of years ago for a couple of early draft picks. But we're too dumb to do anything that smart.

Oh, don't hate me Peejay - you were nicer a couple of weeks ago.

Richo is my favourite player at the club - a top kid and i will not say a word against him personally - has had one great year in 1996. But due to injury, bad temperament, and a group of players who have no idea how to deliver to him, he is wasted at Richmond, and other teams would have loved to have had him, and maybe we would have seen what he could have done at another club. But in the meantime, we might have picked up a couple of good EARLY draft picks if we had traded him. Now, he has niggling injuries, playing him at full forward where he will be double teamed everywhere he moves, i don't see him as the great messiah for Richmond. It was a nice dream, but it will never happen.

But, as always, i would like to see him prove me wrong.

Cheers

Richo had chronic hamstring problems 2 years back - he missed half the year because of it - mainly because he was too big and running too hard.

While he was out the second time, he did a lot of work changing his body shape and fining himself down so that he was carrying less bulk.

You will find that I commented early on this year when it was reported about the beefed up Richo that it would only be time before he did his hammy because he couldn't help himself to go on a 100 metre lead.

I would be betting a goose's fart against a clap of thunder that Richo did his hammy this time because he hasn't been conditioned to run like that during a game and that his body was putting too much strain on his legs.

Which makes it the conditioning/fitness/medical teams fault not Richo's.
