Colonial Stadium won't be ready on time because of these bloody bludging unionists. It gets a little hot, they "can't work". It gets a little cold, they "can't work". They see how much money is being poured into CS and they decide they can hold the developers to ransom!

What a load of crap!

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU BUILD A STADIUM?

Let's see now, time pressure, sell off your other options, piss people off.

Yep, that is how not to go about it. Really amazing that a group of workers would try and get more money out of an overambitious ridiculously optimistic stadium construction, isn't it?

These stadium builders would never, ever dream of having inflated food prices, increasing entry price by having lots of reserved and corporate seating, hence cutting AFL and club member access.

No, they would never dream of that. Union boys, hope you take 'em for millions and millions.

Gee, imagine playing at Waverley.

Lets just say that if it wasn't for "overly ambitious" people the world would be a much poorer place.

Yes, imagine playing at Waverley. A small, piss poor park with no atmosphere and shitty traffic/parking planning. It was built in a time when the crowds we get these days were not even dreamed of. If you had said to an AFL official in the '70s - "We're going to have 5 to 6 million through the gates by 2000" you would have been laughed at.

Increasing gate prices??? As far as I know corporate boxes and the like DECREASE gate prices due to the inflated prices charged for them which companies are willing to pay.

I'd rather pay $50 to see a game at a quality stadium than see a game for free at Waverley.

Well Mav I'm glad to hear you can spare a lazy fifty bucks to watch a game of footy. Unfortunately I can't and I have an inkling that there may be one or two others out there who may be in the same boat).

If I can't affort to get to see a game it my children miss out as well.

But then we're supposed to watch it on the TV aren't we? .... coz thats what your CS is all about.

Get it right. VFL park had a vision for 150,000 capacity - It is still possible if we see sense. In 10 to 20 years time we will be looking for a place to put a stsdium htat big - But there will be nowhere. Todays 'visionaries' will have their pants down !

In getting a 36 hour week, instead of being greedy they have created work for people who might now be unemployed. I think thats a good thing

By the way, we don't want to know what you think of the unemployed.

Blind Spot? The turf is alright, nowhere as bad as it used to be though.

There are epic blind spots next to those big corperate box looking things opposite the scoreboards.

Also, if you are high enough up on the top tier you struggle to see the boundary line and a couple of metres in.
