We were shit mostly.

Jezza kicked 4 I think but was lamentable.

Atkins, Zuthrie, BLitz, SDK, COS, Humphries can hold their heads up high. No issues there.

The rest - need work and a longer time on the training track.

Skills were deplorable basically all game long.

Got belted in the guts too often.

Wont be a good review with a lot to be said I reckon.

Lick the wounds and move on as Pies are 6 days away.

BLues had their GF today.. good on them.

Reckon Stewy is barely 60% right.

GO Catters
Stewart's best days are behind him. Has lost pace and his body not holding up. Luckily O'Sullivan is picking up the slack. Our backline is the least of our problems.

Don't worry, we've got Neale for 3 more seasons and I'm quite sure the MC will rightly back him in to continue developing over the coming years

I think with his size now we should have seen a break out game. He just lacks fundamental understanding and feel for the game. I’m not sure that will ever develop.

Think you're wrong on Neale - he'll get there
I’m not so sure, he’s too soft. For a guy his size **** he is weak at the contest.

Kicking myself for any sort of hope when you've got such an unbalanced L plate team with Wiltshire, Clarke, Mullin, Managh and COS. COS and Managh okay, but Just the sum is weaker than the whole, when you have Henry, Cameron struggling, Neale as unco as Sav.

Really really poor choices with ball in hand. Come on coaches, you are to blame, because the inability to pick correct running targets has been obvious for some time.

3 MCG games in 14 days against 3 MCG tenants
2 MCG tenants

Carlton are Marvel tenants but play the expected larger drawing crowds at MCG

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Melbourne and Richmond are the 4 official MCG tenants

We've got KP, while the remaining Vic teams call Marvel home for playing purposes

Jye Clark can play VFL for the rest of the season, he wont make it, Humphries and O’Connor are superstars
I think you mean O’Sullivan, O’Connor was ****ing hopeless.

What a waste of an opportunity to be top 4. Stop losing to crap teams. Took until the last qtr to get our game going then they ran the clock. Umpires did not help at all.
Smith and mannagh were fantastic and atkins did some really important things. We didn't have any others who really won their position.
Humphries summed up our team-battled hard but made some awful errors by foot.
Curnow showed up osullivan where I knew he would but I liked some of Connors intercepts. Something to work with.
I liked a few little things Clark did but low TOG still a real concern.
Mullin isn't ready and we saw the limitations of Bowes and oconnor today but I'm not sure who we can bring in for them. Our midfield is poor on paper but the last qtr shows what we can do if we lift our pressure rating to cover it.

Wiltshire clearly was not ready and Henry needs to be dropped as does neale if he won't contest but I'm not sure with all our injuries that we actually have anyone to bring in for them. I'd pick kreueger if he was on our list.

Clark can spend the whole rest of the season in the VFL. He's miles off the pace and has shown absolutely nothing in any of his 20 games at AFL level. People will say he's still young, but 20 games is a big enough sample size (it's close to a full home and away season) to expect to have at least seen flashes of AFL quality, and he hasn't even been able to do that. If he's able to dominate every week in the VFL and (more importantly) show signs of development, then let him see out his contract and have one last crack at it next year. Otherwise, put him on the trade table at the end of the season.

Yes the umps were horrible.

But we killed our own momentum with basic skill errors.
Yep our basic skill errors were the main problem. Still getting over Cameron dropping that soda of a mark thst would probably have led to a goal and also losing his way and giving a terrible floating handball to Neale. Why TF! would you give it to Neale.

We seem to really drop away when a big gun is quieter, Holmes was hardly sighted early, and we were smashed in possessions and both contested and uncontested marks. Kicked to Haynes and McGovern like kick to kick in training.

Hard to believe it was just 18 points in a way, but not a great game to give a debutant against a strong midfield, the net output of Wiltshire and Ollie was almost negligible, although i thought it odd Oli was subbed off after his nice kick into the forward line leading to a goal. Stewart now seems to get a niggly injury early in several games now, he certainly wasn't at full rat power. Sadly Clark just doesn't seem to have any tricks up his sleeve, he's small, not highly skilled, and doesn't even seem to be an effective tackler. Miers out hurts, but we have a pretty full list to pick from.

Annoying, as the Blues probably did play their Grand Final, and of course they rolled out the 30th anniversary crew too (seems to happen a lot more against us than with us), and the crowd was certainly pro-Carlton. We're now 4-3 and an even tough matchup against the Pies to come. Can only hope they are a little off their game after 5/6 wins in a row, but I'm not all that confident.

Pretty much it.

We've got guys choosing when to go, and some disappear when the whips are cracking.

There's some natural disconnect because of the youngsters and fading stars, but some others need to take a hard look in the mirror.

Our skills were woeful. We missed targets by metres, our passing is too slow and loopy, and our forward structure is like the unicorn.

We knew our midfield would struggle, and so its come to pass. Luckily we've discovered COS and Humphries to help stem the hemorrhaging.

Our forwards are a problem. None of them are standing up. Cameron, Neale, Close, Stengle and Dempsey need to do more. Then there's OHenry......

The umps didn't distinguish themselves but they aren't the reason we lost....though it might be better if Scott keeps his mouth shut.

We just didn't want it as bad as them, and that's fatal when you're disjointed to begin with.

We're a middling side. We'll keep sides honest but can't assume anything more.

The season is looking shaky now. Stewart is clearly nothing like the player we know. Needs to get his body right. A midfield that relies too heavily on too few. And a bottom 4-6 who are just bog ordinary.

With our tough draw we'll be touch and go to even make finals, let alone impact them. We could easily be out of the eight as soon as next week.

TDK and clearance work took us to the cleaners. Danger needed to move into the middle earlier.

Voss coached quite well today and shut down our switch kick. We couldn’t get any play on the outside.

Still missing one more genuine bull in the guts. Holmes is more of an outside player, and Clark isn’t big enough to play AFL.

Bazlenka + Ax were good today, despite being outgunned in the middle. Maybe Blitz needed to play more onball today.

Missing Messi’s creativity.

Hopefully we land TDK and Butters.

Haynes had arguably the best game of his career. Unforgivable.

Well yeah alright, but they might as well be MCG tenants they get the crowd influence and they get the umpiring bias of tenant

Eh whatever.

Two heroic performances back to back against teams we'll probably meet again. So important winning those and the confidence it can bring down the line.

Came out flat as a result, eventually lifted and showed we had their measure...but too little, too late.

Not ideal obviously, but not the game to pot them IMO. Saints game far more lamentable for example.

On to the Pies.

We really need a bloody ruckman and quickly.
De Koning did as he pleased.

Dangerfield was terrific. Smith, Humphries and Atkins.

I wonder when Henry returns, we try putting Humphries into the middle?
He could be another Simon Black the way he operates.
There is absolutely no way we can afford to lose Humphries rebound from defence, especially now that Stewart is erratic. We would almost hit no targets from half back without him there.
