The geelong hatred even when we lose a game is intense… dilusional

Apparently Scotty is a huge sook apparently complaining we lost due to the six day break… what on earth do Carlton fans listen to??

Scott was asked about this and he said he believes it didn’t impact the result…

And apparently we are making excuses saying we played poorly.. well we did play poorly…

What on earth is he supposed to say?? Get in there and talk about how special Carlton is for 13 minutes? Instead of talking about geelongs performance.

Instead of trump derangement syndrome, it’s geelong derangement syndrome all across the league

Find it funny with Carlton fans, not to long ago they were 0-4 and furious with Voss wanting him sacked. Now they’ve beaten us and ‘THEY’RE BACK’ and we’re a bunch of sooks making excuses? lol

They should be reminded that the last top 8 side prior to yesterday they beat was intact…. Geelong, and they carried on like pork chops thinking they’d win the flag, and look how they went after that game last season, barely won any more games.

That belt he got was terrible

Yes as a supporter you would love to have him playing against Collingwood , however common sense says there is no way he should play , given how hard that hit was

According to someone who knows his great family, the good news is that Gryan is well, passing every test, and is champing at the bit to get back and play. Thankful for that, take his time (it's only football) , and very hopeful of no long term affects.

I'm sure that one plus the Mullin tackle will make it onto the Razors edge segment on 360 this week.

As long as they feature in the Umps own reviews, where they sit around drinking squashes, making excuses (impeded vision) and congratulating each other.

Carlscum yesterday looking like a team that pulled its finger out and realized it has a shite ton of talent courtesy of being terrible for so long, and deciding to actually do something with it.

To be fair, as the commentators were pointing out, every game this year they have lead at half time.

They'll lose to the Crows this weekend and be back in their doom cycle.

I think the midfield battle story isn’t told completely by stats either and needs an eyeball test applied.

Who if our midfielders outside of baz played an A game?? And he has some real shanked kicks and was largely ineffective for chunks of the game.

We largely struggled as a midfield collective to have any real meaningful impact around the stoppages and clearances. Most of our disposals were rushed kicks forward from these situations that were picked off by Carlton.
We are a very undamagibg team around the ball.

Holmes was largely non impactful, as was Atkins, Clark, bowes. Which is why I feel like we tried to run Stengle thru there for a few minutes to see if we could have a player with some speed and zip make more of an impact around congestion

We lack some serious A grade talent in there.
Our midfield got destroyed…

…on the outside.

Cerra gets a week for striking during a stoppage
cats no free 🤪
Apparently according to the Carlton board… cerra was being a gentleman and was just blocking bowes hand from striking him, and even went to the extent of trying to help bowes by running away from him after the hit to help protect him…

And they seriously believe the aboce

They used to say the same about Hawkins
I think big guys these days, particularly if they are significantly bigger than their age cohort, are encouraged to rein in any aggression at an early age. Might explain how they appear a bit ‘soft’ out on the park when they arrive in the senior comps.

Carlton fans going nuts on social media over Danger not getting cited for breaking Silvagni's hand with his pec.
Not to make light of injuries but the thought of Silvagni breaking his delicate fingers on Dangerfield's rock hard abs is pretty funny.

Anyone notice the couple of occasions where Bowes got some dirty looks for trying to jag goals when a pass to free player was on. Pressure may explain it, but some ‘not happy’ reactions downfield..
Yeah but there is also such a thing as being too unselfish sometimes

Inside 40m they probably have the licence to have a shot

Of course you want to kick it!

Mannagh wasn't playing AFL at the age of Knevitt or OHenry....Maybe we should give them more time too?
Actually I was thinking around those lines as well. Knevitt might get victimized by getting spotted as a talent too early. Like other mature recruits, he might have been unregarded early, go to a smaller league and truly learn how to play hard without the pressure. Mannagh, HS, TK, Pods etal, got the time to develop. Knevitt might need more years in the VFL to harden himself into the weapon he is physically capable of being, but isn't.
Maybe too many young talents get burned up by early expectations and need longer timelines.

reactive and alert, like last week when he reacted to the eye movement of Weddle to spoil and get us the game winning goal?
Mannagh kicked the goal but even when reviewing it he talked about the two efforts Neale made in the one play which were crucial. I'm not saying he had didn't have a poor game but don't pigeonhole him after that one showing

I'm not pigeonholing him but I'm worried that he's not a creative forward. I know his main job is to bring the ball to ground and create a contest but I think there is a guy currently in the VFL who can do that but also hit the scoreboard. His name is Kreuger.

It might be time for Neale to go back to the VFL where he can find some confidence. 3 marks & 0.7 goals per game isn't doing it for us at the moment.
It wasn't just this one showing, it's been a pattern for about a month now.

I think a few of us may underestimate Gyrans importance to the team. Big loss.

On Neale - I've been supportive of the club in showing patience with him and thought his last qtr v Hawks may have given him the confidence to play a more stronger game yesterday but he seemed again just on the fringes. Admittedly delivery to him was often poor but he was a forlorn presence v Carlton

So which part of what I said do you disagree with??
“We largely struggled as a midfield collective to have any real meaningful impact around the stoppages and clearances.”

JJ, re the brown tinge, do you mean Miers or Wiltshire?
Wiltshire. Needs a bit of stain remover on the shorts and back to the VFL until the plums drop.

Tough to judge him on one outing but the poor fella looked overwhelmed and way out of his depth.

He’s a bit of a project I think but looks a few years off being a player at AFL level

Don't why people bother there, except for after losses for a laugh.

Going over there is like getting into a time machine to 1987.

A time I didn't get to experience, but if it's that Carlton centric, I think I'm okay with where I'm at.

So which part of what I said do you disagree with??
I think you're both right.
I think we can simplify it and say our midfield got slaughtered.

They were 2nd best in the contest, clearance, stoppages and on the spread.

Just gotta come to grips with the fact that Sunday was Carlton supporter's biggest achievement since their last finals appearnce.
