I wouldn't mind betting he'll be back this week against his old side. Don't know who should be dropped for him though.McGovern will be back shortly, perhaps as soon as this week. Hopefully with the spring in his step back.
If this turns out to be true, Gov is going to get smashed by AR.I thought Teague in his press conference seemed to be suggesting Mitch probably won't play till next season.

I'll eat the double baconators for him.
It'll be tough, but if it's for the good of the team.....
Yeah, I know. I added the 'double' to the baconators.... I just REALLY want to help.
It’s interesting to read the injury lists of all the AFL teams. We’re doing alright when compared to most teams at the moment.
Certainly in terms of numbers injured, we are one of the better placed teams. Just unfortunate that most of our players who are injured are clear best 22. Unlucky.
Priority pick right there under the St Kilda injured player rule. Was good in Brisbane game as well.
No Curnow & Marchbank to finish the year is a bit disappointing. We'd have wanted to keep getting games into them.
I’m surprised Curnow was rushed back for meaningless games when his bone bruising was still there.
To me yet another case where I wonder what the hell the club is thinking.
When someone is looking to have a 'whack' at the club, they are going to overlook such facts.I don't think we did rush him back.
He played well vs Brisbane & Bulldogs...copped a massive knock to his knee in the Freo game which has put him out of action.
McG is quicker than BamBamAnd with no McGovern a smaller quicker side.
...might also be a good thing for negative Nellie supporters like me. Am shite'ng myself at the thought of another off-season knee injury to Doc. Possibly best thing for me would be to face that psycho fear head on, sooner rather than later. If Docherty is right to go later in the year, I would give him a game. Doesn't matter if it's VFL or AFL.
Would be good for the his soul.
Charles out for the year
Bone bruising lasts longer than you think. As soon as it was announced early on in the year my heart sank a little for him, he was always going to be carrying it all year. It's not necessarily the type of injury that will get worse if you keep playing, it's more or less the type of injury where play time/performance depends how much pain the individual can tolerate, so as long as he felt ok there's no set time that is too short or too long of a break.I’m surprised Curnow was rushed back for meaningless games when his bone bruising was still there.

Correct.I don't think we did rush him back.

Didn’t say we rushed him back. When someone is looking to have a 'whack' at the club, they are going to overlook such facts.

This time of year there are a number of players carrying injuries into games & you could easily argue that every game is meaningless, given September action was never on the cards for us this season. Do we put every player who is nursing an injury out to pasture for the rest of the season because our games are meaningless? Where do we draw the line?Didn’t say we rushed him back.
Just questioning why he’d be playing in meaningless games with bone bruising.
I just hope they’re being extra careful when it comes to Charlie. Clearly he’s prone to issues with his knee, dating back to U18s where he dislocated his kneecap. This time of year there are a number of players carrying injuries into games & you could easily argue that every game is meaningless, given September action was never on the cards for us this season.
