Blue Heelers LIVE

Apparently they're going to attempt a wholly live episode, similar to the one that ER did some years ago.

Should be interesting, will certainly give us an idea of who, John Wood aside, can actually act.

The title sounded like there was going to be a musical stage spectacular based on the popular local television drama.

I didn't see the live ER episode, were there many mistakes on the actors' behalf?

live, huh?

I believe the live ER (if my memory serves) was very slick. Almost impossibly so...

I expect the live Heelers to be, basically, a stage play. What's the bet it occurs entirely on the one set - the police station - and involves an awful lot of 'character development'.

Which is not to say that it'll be terrible, but it's a sign of John Wood getting bored, if you ask me.

Actually using three entirely different sets.

There is an upcoming episode of The Bill that is totally live. That is it was live in the UK, the episode we get to see is a videotaped version of the live episode.
What's the bet this is where Ch 7 got the idea from. Has anyone at 7 actually had an original idea in recent years?

(Actually has anyone on commercial TV in this country?)

They pinched it from the ER episode. There was a story about it in the Aged a few months ago.

The Drew Carey show has done 2 or 3 live episodes, but it works well for comedies.

The Drew Carey and ER live shows in the US had to be done twice, due to timezone differences.I doubt Blue Hillbillies would do the episode again for WA viewers.

I didn't think they could possibly make that show any worse. It seems as though they're going to have a red hot go at it, though.

The live ER episode was exceptionally well done.

Was one of the live ones when they combined it with "Whose Line is it Anyway"? That was a great episode.

Blue Heelers is like so many Australian (melo)dramas...

Haven't watched for a while but I watched tonight and I thought it was pretty good. Generally ya wouldn't have even noticed it was live besides one or two moments.

They did far better than i expected.

I noticed a few little errors when delivering lines, and they stuffed up the lighting change when going into the flashback scene (they turned the lights on to make it seem like daylight, just a little too late).

If i'd have not known it was live, i wouldn't have been able to pick it.

The show was pretty good considering that htey had to do it with no stuff ups. I reckon a couple of times though thay looked as though someone was going to burst out laughing. The crying was sooo overdone but who can cry really well when you have to.

They also messed up with the camera when they were going into the interview room, they were filiming the floor rather then their bodys.
