Just finished reading it and again reminded me of just how many injuries we had.

Hardly a player goes by that wasn't hampered for being injured. What a year? :(
Thing is, whilst the artlcle lists injuries to certain players it doesnt cover the full extent of injuries that we had.

Players that had injury interruptions this year but who's injuries were not mentioned in the article include armfield, bell, bray, buckley, carter, collins, heyne, lucas, okeefe, robinson, thornton, touhy and watson...

Interesting that Gav sees Ed Curnow as potentially becoming an elite midfielder, if they work on his disposal and decision making.

I suppose if those things could be improved enough it wouldn't be impossible. Carrots is a good example of this, though it took some time. And this year Curnow seemed to imitate Carrots a bit with his run with roles.

Nevertheless, I'd just be happy if they can get his decision making and disposal improved and he be a good solid, consistent mid.

A nice read, but a little too postive for me - would have like to see more 'areas for improvement' but those things maybe not for our eyes to see

"The Blues struggled to cope with regular injuries to key personnel
It's been well documented, but it's worth repeating just how big a factor that injuries were in Carlton's disastrous season. Players to miss four or more games through injury in 2012 included Marc Murphy, Andrew Carrazzo, Chris Yarran, Lachie Henderson, Shaun Hampson, Andrew Walker, Michael Jamison, Rob Warnock, Jarrad Waite, Mitch Robinson and Jeremy Laidler. The Blues' depth was exposed, but to be fair, most teams would struggle to accommodate an injury list as lengthy as Carlton's often was without suffering a dip in form. "

This hurt our season! Any team would struggle when injuries hit these type of players!!

Barring injury, Mick will make us a top 4 team in 2013.

So basically it's an overly positive way of saying he's fit but has no footy brain or skills. Harsh but true. 99% of the league could be an elite midfielder if all they had to do was work on these things. TBH, I don't think you can teach good decision making. You can drill someone enough so they get used to set plays, but the instant they are faced with something out of the norm, they will react instinctually, be it a good decision or bad.

I like Ed, but I don't think there is enough upside in him to become an elite midfielder. Tagger is about his limit.

TRADE lol

Now we know who came up with that campaign from the filth a few years back - together we are beautiful.
