So could it be that we are only going to pull the trigger in accepting Pick 13 + some B grade player from Adelaide, if Freo agrees to the Fyfe deal?

Hence it is Freo holding this trade up as their response dictates our response to Adelaide?

is it bad that I can't work out why Fyfe would come to us?

kinda depressing
Answer = Cripps.

Cripps would extend Fyfe's career allowing him to do less grunt work and get back to being an explosive player without doing all the heavy lifting. Like Judd when he moved to Carlton, sometimes these 'alternate thinking' type players change clubs for a challenge. I remember Judd saying he picked us because of the challenge and quality young list. Well arguably we are building more depth of quality talent now than we did back then with just Murphy, Gibbs, and Kreuzer.

Guys like Cripps, Weitering, C. Curnow, McKay, Cuningam, Docherty, Plowman, Marchbank, Sumner + another good draft haul this year are all very exciting prospects and he may like the opportunity to build something with them. We also have good facilities and are one of the big 4 clubs for him to build his NatFyfe7 brand name.

Plenty of reasons why he would want to come to us. Plus everyone looks better in navy blue.

Just as I finally resolve to do some serious study for my exams and I see this.

****s sake. Someone shout me the price of repeating these units next semester because there's no revision being done over here.
+ 1 on that..got a massive essay due Friday that I've barely started but keep checking BF consistently. Oh well, I could always repeat next year, it's not like I'm in my final year or anything

Absolutely. The only thing better than having Cripps is having two of them so they can't be stopped or broken as easily.

If we are forced to trade for Fyfe, then we would lose Cripps. I have no doubt about that.
The only hope of getting Fyfe is through free agency but it would seem that we will also have competition from Hawthorn now.
Our chances of winning that battle are very slim.

Fyfe makes some sense because we lose Gibbs so need to replace him but also Cripps needs support and club knows this

Trick is whether the two firsts are 13 and another first Adel find, or if it is 5 and 13. That former would be the dream as we keep 5 (assume give GWS 24 for Marchbank)

Here's hoping that if we are after Phfighf that it's a swap of players and we keep our draft picks.

Maybe we can bundle Casboult, Jones, Jaksch, Tutt, Boekhorst, Everitt, Thomas and Graham for him? Sound fair?
one from left field but I'd throw in Kreuzer if it meant getting Fyfe across

or future pick

here's hoping we have someone to kick it to in the forward half
Fyfe can play forward.

In all seriousness with him and Cripps in the team it would free him up to play some different roles. He can do it all, but has needed to be the beast inside in the past. If he was with us he could open up more, as well as play inside when needed.

Based on this (if true):

I would say that Fyfe is off the table for this year. Can't see us getting him without #5 being used.
But agree with everything you said.

EDIT: and then I read MS3's post :drunk:
Likewise!

We may end up using them on Fyfe, but I hear we'll be adding one 2016 and two 2017 1st rounders.

Smedts might be involved but in the same way Palmer's been discussed - us taking him is of value to Geelong.
