If what MS3 posted is correct do we really want Gibbs? All I'm saying is sometimes you have to make the best out of a bad situation.
No offense but i think that thought is exactly what AFC intended with their media release and would play into their hands. I say stuff em, pay up or shove off.

Just heard another stupid BF reader Carlton supporter ring Trade Radio talking about Fyfe and SOS being in Perth

PLEASE STOP IT!!!! FYFE AIN'T COMING THIS YEAR!!!!!! You all just sound dumb!!!!!

If and I do mean "IF", SOS is actually in Perth it could be for a number of reasons, if 1 of those happens to be to speak to Fyfe, it definitely wouldn't be for this year.

To get someone like Fyfe it would take at least 12-24 months to negotiate before his current contract expires.

Do people honestly think that Judd made his decision to come home and to Carlton when the season finished??

Get realistic guys, if SOS is speaking to him, it ain't for this year ;)
I mean, it looks pretty legit?

Gibbs indicates no intention he wants to go home to the club and then goes behind our backs and talks to Adelaide and they say he wants to go home, a bit of warning would've of been nice so SOS and co. could've planned more before trade period.
I'm not that convinced we didn't know. Weren't we all discussing the possibility of Gibbs leaving as a result of a rumour posted on this board.

If we (Bigfooty) are more in the loop than the CFC then we have bigger problems than being angry with Bryce.

Well after you've swallowed your own vomit maybe you could explain why?

I'd rather have Rowe getting smashed by Tom Hawkins and Buddy Franklin rather than Marchbank and Weitering having their confidence ripped to pieces early in their careers.
Fixing the midfield will do more to help that than a player who is VFL standard at best.

No offense taken Smegger. If Gibbs has lost the respect and trust of our coach then to me the situation has become untenable.

Rowe had a solid season in a tight defensive unit. He played his role.

We can fix the midfield without getting rid of Rowe. His trade value isn't high in any case, it just wouldn't be worth it. We can bolster the midfield in other ways.

I think it depends what SOS thinks of the draft at that point. If there isn't much difference we're better off with Lyons, who is in our best 22 for sure.
I reckon that there is a great player available at pick 9 every year, regardless of how that draft pool is perceived. The pick is also tradeable, which a player like Lyons is not. I'd back our guys in to either pick a good player or use that pick well at the trade table.

Really cannot see Lyons making GCS drop down the order from #13 to #6, but SOS has asked them to find a better deal so if they can that helps.
Would still want #6 and a 2017 second round pick from AFC

I would take pick 6 alone.

And the way the AFL iis handing out candy for free agency moves, Freo would be morons to trade beforehand. They'll get something juicy if he indeed moves. A lot more than whatever we have - 24 & Tutt.
But the AFL are already openly hinting that FA compo may stopped, possibly as early as next year.

How would you feel being Freo and the real risk of losing the best player in the comp, at 25 years of age, for nothing?

Would we part with Gibbs for a top 10 pick?

Carlton
IN #9
OUT Gibbs

Adelaide
IN Gibbs
OUT #13 and Lyons

Gold Coast
IN #13 and Lyons
OUT #9
I'd be close to doing it, but don't GC have #8. We could get more out of Adelaide though. I'd take a 2017 2nd rounder or Dear.
