If North move him on and the Draft is shallow and we don't have many picks, I think Majak is worth a try.
Didn't work with Gorringe, maybe we get the best out of Majak.
Daw's been a rollercoaster for North, but he has incredible raw ability......

I'm actually a bit excited by the prospect of giving Daw a chance at Carlton - maybe a Rookie spot.

He's come from a long way back, a child refugee from war-torn Sudan.

He may yet mature into a decent forward/ruck; a fresh start at a new club can do wonders for late-bloomers.

26 years of age, 195 cm, 97 kg, 23 games, 27 goals.

Statistically no, but they've both had limited exposure. McGovern is a quicker, taller, more agile and whips the ball with his kicking. Both play a very aggressive style trying to move the ball forward, but ultimately I would say McGovern is the more dangerous player.

You've also conveniently left out that McGovern gets considerably more scoring assists and marks inside 50 than Sicily.
Considering that Sicily plays in defence as well as attack, that doesn't surprise me.

Majak? Forget it.
Her's a one in every 6 week player. Not the type we need.
Hasn't learned his way around the ground and never will.
Probably a fair call on Daw .
But our ruck stocks need addressing .
Kruezer lately is getting up every week but has a substantial injury history .
Phillips is again injured and also has history .
Gorringe is gone at seasons end and Korcheck is powerball odds of making it .
So Daw as a rookie or a Palmer type deal (pick 135) ? might not be the worst idea .
Personally i think we should be making a play for Pruess either this year or next .
I know North would probably prefer to keep Pruess and move Goldy on but finding a club to take on Goldy's big contract at his age and diminishing ability/fitness might prove very difficult .

Someone would likely pay for Daw, thinking they could teach him something he hasn't been able to learn yet.

I just can't see it being us. Our ruck stocks will have to be bolstered by the right types, and Daw just doesn't fit......even on the cheap.

I'm with Harks .... ask the question what need does he fill?

5 clubs lining up for Trent Mckenzie. Why aren't we one of them? 'The Canon' would be a good replacement for Simmo down the the track.

Overrated. 3rd tall defender who can kick a ball a long way. Can't even break into the Suns team for the past 2 seasons. Do not want.

I agree what people fail to realise when considering players such as Daw is that no club has 40 superstars on their list although GWS may disagree its not just about building quality but also depth in all areas . Dependant on cost he could be quite a valuable addition to a list of 40+ given our side is lacking ruck depth . And our key forward stocks are thin also however im not at all unhappy with what we have coming through there but that may also change somewhat if Casboult leaves .
So given our circumstances and imo Daw is certainly an upgrade on Gorringe and at the right price is definately worth looking at during a rebuild where we have so many youngsters coming through .

He doesn't really though. He's only just started to this season and only for 2 or 3 games so far, with most of those being 50/50 fwd & back. I think the weekend was the first time he actually played a full game in the backline. Anyway. it wouldn't have made a massive difference on his career stats yet.

if I remember correctly Rocky got the 3 votes for bog against us last year...........can play and is tough also.
I'm not sure where the perception he gets easy ball has come from. He's a gun mid, runs hard and is tough. His disposal is very good too.

No exposure is probably doing him in a bit

Not a fan of Sicily, but that is not true. Has been "swinging" for a couple of seasons now, on and off.
Pretty sure Clarkson trying to educate and make more accountable.

Not a plodder, just ineffectual in a Tom Mitchell kind of way.

Gets plenty of it, doesn't impact games like he should.
This is a fallacy that people like to trot out.
So not true...even though they don't have pace or long metres gained does not mean they are not gun players.

Rockliff's possessions would look more damaging if he had better players around him who actually did something positive once he gives the ball to them...you can't blame him if his teammates are in the wrong position or then lose the ball.

Rockliff and Mitchell are guns.

And playing in a poor team.

Despite his good work in winning the ball and getting it out to a teammate, if that teammate then stuffs up his next kick people seem to think 'oh see, Rocky's possession didn't help the team in the end' even though it wasn't his fault at all.
