He played one NEAFL game last year, so you have to assume they interract through the season and pre-seasons as part of a larger squad. Look at Penrith as an example for us.Given he is a first year player, wouldn't have thought he would have forged any relationships with any of our guys apart from Macreadie?
Given the wealth of talent, it's unsurprising that there's some friction with regard to selection policy. Perryman could do everything asked of him and still wind up second best.Getting a bit ridiculous having 1st year players being unhappy about being in and out of the team.
You can't call something irrelevant without providing grounds for its irrelevanceNo he is posting an irrelevant statistic.- because based on Simpson's current form - meaning the last two months - I wish he had only played 70% on field.
it is arguably misleading - not irrelevant. You can't call something irrelevant without providing grounds for its irrelevance

I don't necessarily agree. The 1 year playing was not the main reason for Sam Mitchell's 4 year deal.
Unless they won the flag the playing component was probably always going to be considered a bit of a failure. The indirect benefits that come from his coaching & leadership are what will give the deal meaning. Such benefits are difficult to measure externally & may not have actually started to surface yet. SOS followed a similar model at GWS when he had a young list. He surrounded them with players like Luke Power, Chad Cornes & Dean Brogan who were all a long way past their prime.
I agree with all of this, however, if our young guys don't improve their output as a collective (smoothing out ups and downs) next year, I'd be sorely disappointed. The growth and development of the young guys wont be linear. It will be in fits and starts, they will plateau, they will grow.
How many of the 1st years (sps, willow, fisher, macreadie even Mckay) will get 2nd year blues?
They will all have rough patches, but we will just need to ride them out. I back the boys in to continue to get better, i just dont think it will be as smooth as we would hope.
Getting a bit ridiculous having 1st year players being unhappy about being in and out of the team.
Also, he got drafted less than 12 months ago.
Even setting aside GWS's super midfield, how many kids would break into a 'normal' side and stay there in their first year.
Seems a bit precocious to be getting antsy at selection. Although we don't know the full story, of course...

This intel is dodgy as (don't shoot the messenger). Harry is not the type of lad to get the shits. He would be head down bum up.If true and as simple as being upset he's not constantly in the senior team that is a pretty poor and entitled attitude to have.
He's a good player and a pretty high draft pick...wouldn't come that cheap. I don't think he's the kind of player we need as he'd be similar to doc and Byrne...what we need is someone like Saad to give us pace.
Can't see us giving up a valuable trading asset for perryman given our other needs.

A few points .
You are locked in on Kelly which is fine but there is a very real chance he may not nominate us as his club of choice so it may pay to at least consider other options .
If Kelly and Hopper both tell GWS they're out, the Giants don't have the option of saying we are not going to lose you both .
They are both out of contract and the Giants will have to do the best they can in dealing with the nominated clubs .
If Gibbs does again request a trade to Adelaide and pick 9 is offered , Silvagni will take it and run.
There would be no 2nd rounder being thrown in on top of pick 9 .
Don't mind the idea as a coach, as a player who is into his last years, they can go down hill very quickly and have little on field impact. What they may teach could be very valuable, however I feel WC and Melb were vying for the top 8, both are far from convincing with their on field performance.
Adelaide kept Scott Thompson and traded Jarod Lyons in the last draft, Thompson has really struggled this season while Lyons has performed well, age can catch you pretty quickly in this game so, as a player no, coach yes.
Nah, bigger picture. There appears to be a couple of tiers at GWS.If true and as simple as being upset he's not constantly in the senior team that is a pretty poor and entitled attitude to have.

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tr-sydney-swansIt was a misleading stat post and Jimmae knows it. McVeigh playing 70% is all about Sydney's list and how they rotate whilst Simpsons 90% is all about Carlton's list and how Carlton HAS to play it.
the post is irrelevant in the context of what value McVeigh brings to the table - because he is a very important part of Sydney's winning formula - he is a great HBF in defense and attack - and would also be amongst Carlton's top4 midfielders if played there - easy.
He would be a great addition to the list - even if it was for only 1-2 years as kids developed etc etc etc...
Don't pay the Perryman...The name 'Perryman' sounds of Jewish extraction so he'd fit in well at Carlton![]()

He's a veteran playing a rotation role for them. And he's missed half the season with soft tissue injuries. I can't make it any clearer to you that he's in no position to take the heat off anyone, merely act as relief.
He should be at the bottom of a shortlist, not the top.
at least until he gets you to the other side.Don't pay the Perryman...
Aside from age, they are so far apart in performance levels that you shouldn't be mounting this defence in the face of what are very straight forward numbers, especially when contextualised with their positional play.I dont think he should be at the top of a Carlton list either- but that doesn't make him a worse proposition than Simpsons current form displays - it is putrid and has been for many weeks. I go to and watch a lot of Sydney games now that I live in Sydney - and McVeigh is an integral part of Sydney - a much better kick than Docherty AND Simpson for starters and a bloke who rarely loses a one on one or a misses a tackle...
No disrespect to Simpson but McVeigh is a better player.

we get mcveigh for pick 1000 with the swans blessing. There's not even a list. He virtually walks in off the street. there's really no need to drag simmo through the mud to argue mcveigh...Kade is unimpeachableAside from age, they are so far apart in performance levels that you shouldn't be mounting this defence in the face of what are very straight forward numbers, especially when contextualised with their positional play.
You've got a bee in your bonnet, and it's about probably our most consistent (and arguably exceptional) player for the last decade. That's insane.
