Yes that's true but i'm guessing Eddie's special talents are not something you can easily teach. He's very instinctive and creative. In his own words "i just make stuff up".

I think it was last year when somebody sent in a rumour about Eddie keen to come back in a coaching role eventually.

Eddie wanted a trade to Adelaide to be back with his & his wife's family and I can't see him wanting a move back to Melbourne.

Sounds mouthwatering but i don't think that's the direction we're going.

If we were targeting Rankine, then Eddie would be of more value IMO as an off-field mentor for him and others also.

In a coaching/mentoring role not a bad idea, but as a player, no.

And no, I don’t believe Pickett is a small forward...he’s a winger/hff that doesn’t have the goal sense/nouse to work in extremely confined quarters and make something out of nothing

Eddie will not be taking anyone’s position in the team in a small forward capacity for a good couple of years, even if by some miracle LeBois actually gets some urgency or we draft a small forward this year.

wilson pickett has been underwhelming so far this year...........another who needs a pre-season and consistency...........

Despite his age I'd be all for Eddie coming back to Carlton.

Hugely popular player and we need as many 'feel good' stories as we can get. If we can get him cheap it would be great publicity. We also have zero quality small forwards and Eddie would be a good placeholder until we can draft a couple more.
