Are we recruiting to benefit the club or are they trying to get all their family members in?

Unless he comes for very cheap, not interested. He's had a couple of years and still can't get games for that shitty GCS midfield. If they accept #1 for #2 + Brodie then I wouldn't be opposed to it, but not a straight swap for one of our second rounders and tbh, if we were going to trade one of our 2nd rounders this year, I wouldn't want it to be for Brodie anyway.
I would for a second rounder if wanted to come to us for nepotism, but GC are bleeding talent and I would think there must be something very wrong with his attitude if they are happy to let him walk for so little.

Shai Bolton? He'd be handy.
Don't know anything about the other guy.

Port Adelaide had some youngsters that some scouts here liked, Drew and Atley?
He's another Richmond small forward who would without a doubt be getting games for us ATM.
You're right those two should be looked at. I really liked Atley in his draft year

It's not the lack of straight line speed in our players which hurts us most. It's repeat-effort sprinting ie. jog around, sprint to lead and create a passing opportunity, jog, sprint to receive a handball, sprint to tackle your opposition player - the stop-start nature of footy which hurts us most.

If the rumor is trade pick 1 for a player and pick 2 then ask for Ainsworth. The kid will be a player and we need more X factor in the forward line.

As for Brodie, he is not what we need. Too one paced. Put him next to Kennedy and Cripps is not smart. We need pace in our mid field and half back line. Have we not been paying attention to the last two premiers. Speed kills. We need players that can break away from the contest and also spread at pace. Also there is a reason why Brodie dropped from being number 1 prospect most of the year in his draft year.
The kid dropped 7 places and still went top 10, he didn't drop to the 2nd or 3rd round and he is a lot faster than Cripps and Kennedy.

Pick 2 and Ainsworth for pick 1? Not sure if you're serious.

Didn't see the game today but he was able to rack up 24 touches, perhaps they are trying to hold him to a standard ala Harry Mckay.

12 contested possies, 6 clearances, 4 inside 50s and 4 tackles. He imo is clearly worth at a minimum our 2nd (wb) round pick. Id suggest it would be a steal.

Im keen to have a look, the club need to know why he's not getting picked.

Im not doubting the rumour but he is contracted to a club that is desperate to be competitive, why would they want to trade?

If only we had a member of his family on our recruiting team ;)

I agree with you, pick 1 won’t get us pick 2 and Ainsworth, it’s a pipe dream. However it is the X factor he brings in the forward line that we don’t have. I’m just as convinced that Brodie is not what we need. He is not a quick run and carry player. He also doesn’t spread with pace. In and under getting the footy is what he does best and we have that type already. Just an opinion.

Brisbane of all teams just smashed us in contested ball. We need his type.

Brisbane and most other teams smash us for a number of reasons, but a big one is because we are two one paced. Our mids are slow other than fish. They don’t run both ways and they don’t spread. Breaking games open happen with leg speed or elite kicking. We have neither.

I like the idea of adding wallis and brodie and they seem realistic rumours given both aren't getting a lot of game time currently. Adds a couple of mids that are in the right age group which is probably all we can attract besides a hodge type pick up and more list clogers.
