Unrestricted after 10 years I think...I wonder what he is currently on. You are unrestricted if you aren't in the top 25% of highest paid players at a club after 8 years right?

...Depends on the circumstances. West Coast are claiming they 'won' that deal, and if you are talking on-field, they may have a point (though Juddy certainly carried us out of so many potential embarrassments) but what he imparted to our team in terms of utter professionalism, experience, leadership, dedication and membership, we could never repay him and on that alone I say we are miles in front on the deal.Big fish are overrated - don't get me wrong i absolutely love Juddy. But how much of a difference would of it been if we kept Kennedy instead of getting Judd (an extra year to wait for finals? - i could live without that 2009 elimination final loss to Brisbane!!)... we'd be in the same position but possibly with a somewhat better forward line.
Let's build this team properly!! through drafting better players, smarter trades and better development of our players ... it's simple!
I'm also worried he'll post less - it's giving me dearthanxiety...

I don't think one club needs to "win" the trade....Depends on the circumstances. I'm getting in first....
One Swallow doesn't make a Sumner !
What's probably happened is Carlton want to keep their cards close to their chest.... Then pounce!
So they've probably instructed Marchbank and JOM to say nothing, or create a diversion until they actually sign on the dotted line...
Strong rumour circulating that there will be a new website launching soon for growing base of AFL fans in NZ - www.bugfooty.com
Disagree with your Marchbank aversion, but definitely would like to see Stewart on our list if it doesn't cost much. I think the guy can play, and we need young key forwards. If we assume that Channel 7 is right for once, and we miss out on Marchbank, I still hope we can try get Hoskin-Elliott and Jimmy Stewart over, maybe for a 3rd rounder and/or pick upgrades of later/future picks (and to be honest, I still don't know exactly what it means)
No skin off my back if we miss out on Marchbank, in some ways, I'd rather keep our 2nd rounder going into this year's draft anyway.
I'd laugh if Essendon got Marchbank and Laverde, that's one step fowards, 2 steps back for that footy club.
ffs ...WHE is going to Collingwood
Well... this is interesting!Only if you are in the top 25%. Depends on whether he is in the top 11-12 salary wise at Freo. If not it is 8 years.
http://www.afl.com.au/afl-hq/the-afl-explained/free-agencyThe free agency system started at the end of 2012 and will remain until the end of 2016.
I think that applies to most of their list this year. Fair enough though. I've got to say that I'm basing it purely off stats and haven't really seen him play many games.
7 News just reported Essendon as leading the race for Marchbank..
Well... this is interesting!

I wonder if that means that after this year, the AFL will be scrapping the free agency system!
And Brett Anderson would be right.Brett Anderson tweeted tonight that rival clubs (including other suitors), think it's Carlton.
