Unrestricted after 10 years I think...

Only if you are in the top 25%. Depends on whether he is in the top 11-12 salary wise at Freo. If not it is 8 years.

Big fish are overrated - don't get me wrong i absolutely love Juddy. But how much of a difference would of it been if we kept Kennedy instead of getting Judd (an extra year to wait for finals? - i could live without that 2009 elimination final loss to Brisbane!!)... we'd be in the same position but possibly with a somewhat better forward line.

Let's build this team properly!! through drafting better players, smarter trades and better development of our players ... it's simple!
...Depends on the circumstances. West Coast are claiming they 'won' that deal, and if you are talking on-field, they may have a point (though Juddy certainly carried us out of so many potential embarrassments) but what he imparted to our team in terms of utter professionalism, experience, leadership, dedication and membership, we could never repay him and on that alone I say we are miles in front on the deal.

I don't think one club needs to "win" the trade.

Both clubs benefited greatly, Judd for his leadership and professionalism and amazing football prowess, and West Coast for the goal kicking power that Kennedy provides on his home ground in home and away matches. Let's just celebrate a true win/win trade!

*but we won the trade hands down, we got Armfield :p

If we assume that Channel 7 is right for once, and we miss out on Marchbank, I still hope we can try get Hoskin-Elliott and Jimmy Stewart over, maybe for a 3rd rounder and/or pick upgrades of later/future picks (and to be honest, I still don't know exactly what it means)

No skin off my back if we miss out on Marchbank, in some ways, I'd rather keep our 2nd rounder going into this year's draft anyway.

I'd laugh if Essendon got Marchbank and Laverde, that's one step fowards, 2 steps back for that footy club.

What's probably happened is Carlton want to keep their cards close to their chest.... Then pounce!

So they've probably instructed Marchbank and JOM to say nothing, or create a diversion until they actually sign on the dotted line...

Yep that sounds good; I'll go with that for now.
Anything to keep up the spirits.

Marchbank would be good. Settle the back line long term. Settle the forward line, then build the midfield / rucks through the draft and FA.

Disagree with your Marchbank aversion, but definitely would like to see Stewart on our list if it doesn't cost much. I think the guy can play, and we need young key forwards.

Don't puss down my beck and tell me it's raining bro!

Well... this is interesting!

The free agency system started at the end of 2012 and will remain until the end of 2016.

I wonder if that means that after this year, the AFL will be scrapping the free agency system!

I think that applies to most of their list this year. Fair enough though. I've got to say that I'm basing it purely off stats and haven't really seen him play many games.

He is quite a good footballer. He knows where and when to lead, can take a good grab and is very capable in the midfield.
Not sure how he would go with only Casboult to work along side of though, so it's a pass for me.

Apparently Walters is contracted until 2018. If that is the case, he is not a priority for us. As a free agent he would have had some value but now ... nah.

Patience. It will happen
*thats what I'm telling myself at least*

In addition to Bolton, Silvagni etc I hope the club are using the likes of Cripps, Murphy, Docherty, Weitering? in meeting and helping persuade talent/free agents to choose the club. In my view that should be a contractual requirement as part of the leadership group.

Would be refreshing however to hear publicly from one of our targets "I want to be a Bluebagger!"
