The club doesn't always publish articles when a player re-signs. I can't recall a time when we've published an article about making a contract offer.

I know it's just publishing comments already made by trigg, and out there in the public domain, but this seems a bit like grandstanding. Either to pressure Zac or assuage fans' fears we are pushing Zac out of the club.

No problem with either of those, but not our usual MO.
Covering our asses for when he goes and says Carlton offered him 2 years at $50k with the proviso that Trigg gets the soul of his first born son.

There can be only 1
Not sure why Touhy hasn't been rotated more through the centre this year since our small to medium size defenders have been pretty good. Has pace, kicking penetration, strong body, good evasiveness, loves the contest and is a fast learner. I would have thought in a development year it would be the time to do this. Not a permanent mid, but rotating through there and an attacking wing.

We seem happy to let him go, but I think he has more to offer.
Is he quick and accurate of hand or thought? Because that is what we need from our inside mids.

Those are my thoughts too. It appears the club by going public on the official club website saying he has been offered a healthy 3 year deal is putting it all on Touhy. If he declines the offer then the club doesn't look like it pushed him out and it was Tuohy's decision to leave.

Is Mitchell what we need? Is his disposal up to standard? Does he damage oppositions? I feel we'll have to give up a bit for this bloke. Is he worth it?
I don't want him and I certainly wouldn't give up a first rounder for him.
He could have already been here but we weren't good enough for him.
Let him go elsewhere and we can concentrate on the draft.

68% disposal efficiency.
We have plenty of them. He'll Sam Kerridge goes at 73%, Simon White 78% and Sam Rowe 82%

He would definitely be a first choice midfielder on the Thursday at the selection table and would help fill a need for us.

However it's his attitude as has been previously discussed that is if the greater concern. If he is just after the cash its probably best we take the hit and leave him out. If he is stung by the fact Hawks chose O'Meara over him it may be an attirude adjustment.

I'd actually prefer to get Harry Cunningham than Mitchell, from Sydney, would cost less trade and cap wise, but would greatly bolster our midfield.

Wouldn't knock back Tommy Boy though, just don't want to give up pick #5

Mitchell would be a great get for the right price.

Would love to see him in navy blue next year but I doubt it'll eventuate.

wonder if we are still after him after some the rumours on here regarding his manager using us to up his contract with swans.

Not sure hat we could offer swans. not trading pick 5 and next 1st rd is worth more if we finish in same position or lower.

rather hope we get brodie in the draft. and trade with GWS

Agree with your point.
We have to shoot higher than being first choice in our midfield? It's like saying that Tyrone Vickery would be first picked in our forward line. For what we'd have to pay out we need cream not a foot soldier.
