Cunningham and Cuningham? I don't thinnk so...............
We'll be a commentator's nightmare!
Fast forward a few years - Cuningham picks it up, gets it off to Silvagni, back to Cuningham, short pass to Cunningham, over the top to Silvagni, back to Curnow, Curnow through traffic then on by hand again to Curnow, Curnow goes short to Silvagni, Looooong kick into the forward 50 from Silvagni and SILVAGNI takes a great grab in the square!

Haven't looked it up myself, but if that's his DE then that's enough for me to say no. You can probably get away with that in a team as strong as Sydney's, but you'd be exposed 5 minutes into the 1st quarter in our side.
I am glad you are not our list manager then. The amount of possessions this bloke gets, there's bound to be plenty that don't hit the mark.

2016 DE%:
Tom Mitchell - 68.2%
Josh P. Kennedy - 68.4%
Dan Hannebery - 67.4%
Kieren Jack - 67.8%
Dangerfield - 69.1%
Bontempelli - 71%
Patrick Cripps - 71.9%

Means jack S.

Outside of Cripps those blokes all play in strong sides, like I said in my original post. Cripps' kicking ability is the area of his game he certainly needs to work on. However, like Judd, you can get away with that when you have such a strong clearance game.

EDIT: Any need for that first sentence or.......?

Those stats dont paint thw whole picture. Where is the ball being turned over, % of disposals by hand v foot etc

What is Jack Silvagnis disposal efficiency by the way?

You said that you wouldn't recruit Mitchell based on his DE%. The stat is irrelevant.

EDIT: You're also assuming that we're going to be a terrible side for Mitchell's entire career. He may be less effective for the first year or two, like anyone we recruit, but the plan is to be a good side. I just don't understand that point of view.

Not sure it's entirely irrelevant. I would prefer us to go after players who use the ball well.

This post sums it up pretty well.

Though I also think we shouldn't be going after Mitchell on account of both what the Swans will likely ask for him and what he himself will ask for money-wise.

It's irrelevant in the context you were using. Putting a black line through a bloke's name because of his disposal efficiency is madness. Particularly when it's not even that bad compared to other elite mids.

Madness is probably taking it a step far. Refer to Lace_Out's post, that's a good way of properly analysing it. Reading too much into my off the cuff posts probably isn't the best way to approach this forum.

Haven't watched enough Swans games to know just where the majority of Mitchell's disposals come. Do they come in close at stoppages? Do they come as he's bursting out of packs like a Dangerfield which don't always come off? Is he a good inside player like Cripps who needs to work on his kicking? You've also got him in pretty good company there. Is he good enough to be classed as an elite mid? If you're a Dangerfield, a Kennedy, a Judd, you can get away with it because of how good your output is overall. But I'd say Mitchell isn't quite in that company yet. These are all questions I don't have the answers for, but again, don't think we should be chasing him anyway.

Let's not be too pedantic guys, Titch is bloody good midfielder and at 23 yrs of age will evolve to very good.
If the deal could be Tuohy and pick 41 for Titch , I'd jump at it. He would help to release Murphy and Gibbs to be more creative playmakers around the ground this immediately will improve the quality of football our team would
plays.
In Silvani we trust , Go Baggers

Gee can't believe how negative some people are on Titch, he's 23 years old and would be an amazing get for us. Absolute ball magnet and his efficiency isn't that bad, similar to Curnow/Carrazzo but way way better and he can improve. He can do a decent run with role as well. Tuohy and Mitchell is a great swap, both teams boost an area they lack whilst giving up surplus to their needs. I'm on board!

Why did it take so long for Mitchell to crack the seniors? Statistically he was going well, must have been something casual supporters can't pick up like defensive running.

Hopefully Bolts wouldn't let him slip through the cracks and slack off.

2E and a third is unders and I'd jump at that. Bryne should be able to replace Touhy and Mitchell would add quality depth to the mid field.

Yeah, and at Sydney too.

If you can't get a gig in front of Hannebury, Kennedy, Jack, Parker and McVeigh you won't make it
