Agree totally, this proposed trade is a step backwards in our rebuild, Marchbank is out of contract has a history of injuries, is worth 15-25, if Tuohy is traded that should have been sufficient to provide a fair trade.

The other players mentioned so far has done nothing as yet to justify the decision to offload pick 5, last year we were able to strike a trade for some high picks from GWS, why are we carving in this year.
This goes completely against the message from Management that they would only trade pick 5 for something exceptional.

Most teams that have sustained success have a core group of 6-8 real quality players, we need two more drafts to access the high end quality to build a list to have sustained success, very disappointed if we carve to this unless there is some proven AFL quality as part of this trade.

We should be backing our talent scouts in to identify the best talent with pick 5 this year.

I hate to sound like a mindless SOS disciple, but if I can trust him to get one smart trade done this trade period, it would be a GWS mega deal. So....

Not sure many would agree with that last part because people overrate draft picks.

Am very excited at the prospect of Pickett if Bolts can push him to get the best out of himself and away from his rumoured lazy ways. Was a number 4 draft pick. That suggests extreme talent which hasn't been shown (and hasn't disappeared) due to an excessively strong GWS lineup and injury. People who call him steak knives either are overrating draft picks or haven't seen enough junior footy. Probably both. Plus these same people most likely haven't even seen him play except for his highlight videos.

That's merely an opinion and mine is that people on the other side of the argument are just the type to be s*** scared of uncertainty. Pickett has a serious (in football terms) foot injury and draft picks usually don't come with the same kind of baggage that players who have spent a few unfulfilled seasons at another club do - "rumoured lazy ways" says it all. Like people say, once a player is drafted, they begin at the same level as every other player does. I wouldn't be chasing players simply because they were highly rated when they were picked, I'd be looking at their current situations objectively and see if they fit in with what best suits us. As you say, Pickett was a number 4 draft pick and draft picks are overrated.

If today's story is true that * are now gonna keep Pick 1, then maybe GWS are not desperate to have both 5&7 to swap for it anymore.

So atm they have #7, but maybe nervous that one of Setterfield or maybe Perryman could get bid before they get a free hit. So maybe they might be open to 7 coming back to us for 5 in a deal, as it is very unlikely either of Setter or Perry get a bid in the first 4 if they have #5.

Thus they get their free hit. Mission accomplished.

Maybe the final deal could be something like our #5, #24 and next years *2nd or 3rd...for...#7, Marchbank and whatever players the 2 clubs work to suit eithers needs.

Dynamic type and would slot through more goals in the next couple of years than any we have currently and doesn't represent the unknown factor that Stewart has. Breust would be handy in this regard also. I believe Brand is tracking well also Schoenmakers.. Who knows?
Just see it as a better option than the GWS bundle discussed. Food for thought moreso than any strong conviction I have.

Read somewhere, earlier today and buggered if I can find it, he visited 3/4 clubs in Vic and was very impressed with our setup.

Wild idea, but I could see us going hard at Fyfe, next week. If we could flip 5 and 2017 2nd for the GWS 5 and 15/16 we may just be able to swing it. Fyfe for 15/16 if he requests a trade to us is doable. Better than ADE got for Danger. Freo can then trade one of those for McCarthy and keep 3. (40 is their next pick otherwise which ain't gunna get it done)

Then, I'd throw Tuohy and 24 at Swans for Mitchell and 36. Apparently we are very keen on him still.

Think Jack might be more a sneaky short leading opportunist up at the 50m type than a deep lead up or floating option as I see Sicily. McKay is another but could still be a fair way off too. Liam and Levi could even surprise us yet!

The only one I can remember for sure was Dislike...but they were there. I remember posting about them, just tried to find it...no good. They were little emoticons attached to each post and they would tally how many of each one you received.

Anyone? Little help? It was probably five years ago, give or take...

If GWS only insist on St Kilda's second rounder for Steele as speculated, then for Marchbank and the hospital ward ... a second rounder, preferably next year's swapped with GWS's, should be sufficient.
