Zach got caught with ball in hand quite a bit earlier this year. Finished up being a very solid year though. No to motlop, we're good for inconsistent half forwards right now.
I got the impression that Touhy's form spiked when the contract he was after wasn't being offered to him.

Zac wants out, Gibbs want out. Pick 13 not enough for Gibbs. Geelong don't have any picks.

GC have mutliple first round picks and a stated desire for mature bodies. I wonder whether there is any way of a four-way mega trade that ultimately nets us 8 and 13 for Zac and Bryce. Would be relatively comfortable with that outcome.

I want to keep pick 13 as well - and I don't want 13 used in the Marchbank scenario.

We need to use picks 5 and 13 for the best mid fielders available in this draft.

Lyons is not enough - pick 13 and Lever at a bare minimum

Not at all worried about midfielders yet. I'm happy to allow SOS and Bolton to lock down the Defence and Forward options first.

Oh well, shit happens.
Whilst I'm absolutely shattered about Gibbs, I'm sure SOS will get the very best out of it.
Let's hope we get a 150-200 gamer out of it.

I can't help but think we built 5 players into the pick 5 trade (rumour) to get more value out of giving that pick away. I am feeling as though Gibbs will go for pick 13 + whatever else that the gws trade will involve that pick now for 2 or 3 players. At least that's what I'm hoping. No point stockpiling KPP and I tend to think with Marchbank and Stewart we are about sorted. Those 2 plus best available mid at pick 5 I'd be happy.

Meanwhile, are Port in the race? They have an earlier pick, so can we play them off against one another to increase what we get in return?

As I have said elsewhere there's no chance he's going to Port. It's either Carlton or Adelaide for Bryce.

Port want to get rid of Hartlett for salary cap relief & to have a greater involvement early in the draft. Trading for Gibbs would be counter-productive on both fronts.

Makes sense to move on Gibbs if they're targeting backup midfield depth both in young stocks.

Also if they try for a monster offer for Fyfe who will be 26 at the start of the 2018 season.

Means they'll be looking at a season in the bottom echelons next year (as if we weren't going to be even with Gibbs). So, low draft picks this year plus players in. Very low draft picks next year (potentially wooden spoon / pick 1), plus a Fyfe FA monster deal during his prime.

If that were to play out, this makes all the more sense as part of moving on Gibbs.

Gibbs wanting out makes losing Steele to StKilda all the more annoying!
I really hope we have some decent Mids lined up, no point making a massive play for Fyfe if he has no one other than Cripps. Losing Gibbs makes us less attractive imo. This better be some sort of trade period!

Yeah this. Don't think we'll ever see a Gibbs play for Port.. Ross would have a aneurysm!

That would be an absolute dream of an outcome.

If SOS could pull that off and keep pick #5, he's a miracle man.
