of course YOU'D say thatWe all love a rumour and are equally sceptical of people who post them, but can people chill out a bit with trying to tear other posters down? Questioning a source can be done without character assassination....

Collingwood are looking at Casboult. They are confident they can fix his kicking issues and turn him into a 2-3 goal a game forward to play alongside Moore. They are confident a second rounder will get the deal done.
Am I alone in not wanting our club to leak like a sieve?
Disinformation is part of the business. If you go for a total lock down, what information that does leak proves quite damaging to your interests.I find it interesting that people who have sources want to burn that bridge and betray that level of trust with the source. Plus if you love the club, you wouldn't want to leak that information and make it public knowledge so easily.
Some of what Earl said is probably correct but none of it is really anything new that hasn't already been rumoured. I for one am quite happy that Carlton seem to have locked down on leaking information compared with what we did under the old regime. We don't telegraph all our moves anymore which means we have greater bargaining position and strength at the trade and draft table.
Gut feel says we land Marchbank, Tomlinson and Stewart but not Steele. This will mean we focus on drafting mids which many will be happy with.
Casboult started the season off by going back to old habits but has been using the action Sav taught him for the majority of the season. The issue for Levi this year is the fact that he can't get enough of the ball in our forward line. Collingwoods ball movement for the most of this year has been rubbish. Nothing would change if he was at Collingwood

Did I say that? And that would be a reason NOT to trade him to them ??

Signs of a desperate coach - topping up for short term gain when your side is a mile off it.Casboult started the season off by going back to old habits but has been using the action Sav taught him for the majority of the season. Even if the CFC has sewn their collective mouths shut it doesnt mean there cant be rumours from other sources. When Smorgon & Co were in charge we had more holes than rabbit warren.
However, to be brutally honest, I reckon 95% of the stuff we get as rumours here are complete & utter bullshit and have been for the past 18-months.
The reason being that since Trigg, Bolton & SOS came into power, we have been tighter than a Nun's nasty, they don't let anything out and for that I am eternally grateful.

Heck, a list manager talking to a player manager where there are staff, and then the player itself, means there can be a multitude of valid sources.
Footy rumours are like watching the batchelor. Sure it is mildy titillating but 5 minutes later youve moved on and forgotten about it.....
On a par with the idea of picking up PetrieDon't disagree with you about managers etc, don't forget they leak stuff both accurately but more times than not fabricated to get a better deal.
All I'm saying is that the stuff that has been coming from inside the club is few & far between these days.
As for the Batchelor .........![]()
Do as I say, not as I do, you massive asshat!of course YOU'D say that![]()

You're conveniently ignoring that everyone knew our entire national draft class the night before. When Smorgon & Co were in charge we had more holes than rabbit warren.

They thought they knew the entire draft class.
Well you know what I had a very solid source last year on Carsile coming to Carlton it was 100% a shoe in and bang saints came in with a huge offer and he chased money over Carlton. He shook Andy McKays hand and agreed he would come over a meeting then the saints offer come and he stiffed us. So that's the thing with rumours you can't always be right lol
Someone pasted on twitter the night before we were going to take Blaine, DVB and Smith. We then proceeded to take those three players. You cannot tell me that is anything else than an enormous leak, particularly when Blaine represented a significant reach.
They knew our draft preferences for the top 10-12, which meant once a few pieces fell into place (Melbourne's preferences and Adelaide's), they knew exactly what we were going to do.They thought they knew the entire draft class.

Not rocket science I know, but we're not 'leak' free. People get excited, and we would be stupid not to lace disinformation out at times. I actually loathed our insular structure of the past because people would leak to sink the club, then the senior staff would seemingly lose their shit and make the place miserable.
We're talking about 2015, not 2014.
