plowman in to the midfield?
curious, who should they offload instead?Don't be short sighted. If those were 5 very good young players GWS wouldn't be offloading them so easily.
I have many manifestations..........

One thing we know about SOS is that he's more than willing to be a creative player in the trade period and that he sees the value of high draft picks.Nowhere in particular just venting mate, I do agree we should wait until all deals are done before we can judge.
This.Sumner has midfield attributes. Great speed, good tackler, wins one on ones. His lack of accumulation is problematic. Maybe a proper pre-season might make him a wingman

I reckon you'll pass out if we draft Venables.Pick up Powell-Pepper with 16/17. Ready to impact immediately. If we get both picks, Venables may slide that far or Gallucci.
nope - not right at all. There is potentially one of GWS late first rounders back as well...I'm sorry, did I read right. Pick 5 is going to get us Marchbank, Stewart, Pickett, Kennedy and Corr!!!
No one, including GWS management, knows which of the 5 are or aren't going to make it. I think they all may have good abilities and it's just a question of which players are going to realise their potential. I believe in the law of averages, and fingers crossed, hopefully at least 2 of them will.Don't be short sighted. If those were 5 very good young players GWS wouldn't be offloading them so easily.
IMO he won the game for us against Port with that chase down tackle in the forward 50 late in the 4th, everyone else was spent and he just chased as hard as anything, big mental toughness for a bloke that had zero preseason. I have no knowledge on the thoughts of Bolton but im sure its exactly why hes picked in the side each week and why he will continue to be picked, hes a straight out match winner.I get the feeling that our fortunes are slowly turning and if this guy comes on it will be a huge win for us. I like his aggression too, doesn't back down as you stated he needs to get more ball but you'd think with a big improvement in fitness his numbers with increase.
Which makes sense. So, a team on the verge of a dynasty is going to pick up 3-4 top 15 draft picks this year.
Meanwhile, we are rebuilding and are looking to pick up maybe 1 top 15 draft pick?
Look I could be wrong and I hope I am but I just don't see how that 5 for pick #5 deal benefits us.
Barass saying they'll all play round 1 but I don't see how?
Surely we can't go into a game with 5 KPDs: Weitering, Marchbank, Plowman, Rowe and Corr
and then having another 5 KPP: C.Curnow, Silvagni, McKay, Stewart and Casboult in the forward line.
Add Kreuzer and Philips to that and we will be way too top heavy.
Pickett has a Lisfranc injury he'd be pretty lucky to play round 1.
Only two have to be long-term players if the trade is to be considered a success. It's not as if this is the last year we hit the draft either, still plenty of drafting to be done.I don't see how anyone could be unhappy with this "5 for 5" deal...
It's fairly simple math really...
At draft, pick 5 gets you one very good young player.
GWS deal, pick 5 gets you five very good young players.
I'd say, it's a pretty amazing result if it eventuates....
nope - not right at all. There is potentially one of GWS late first rounders back as well...![]()
No, you need to look longer term. What benefits us longer term:
pick #5 - gun midfielder or a bunch of fringe players?
disclaimer: my post was only based on what others have posted on this forum (Barass seemed to indicate the pick in return).Holy snapping duckshite Batman. That is the mother of all trades. Gimme Gimme Gimme...
That to me is an unbelievably good trade though. Sorry to those advocates of keeping the 5 pick, but that trade is in the best interests of the carlton Football Club.
Add Barass said there may be other surprises too!!! I'm seriously hyped.
Im not buying this pick back in the deal until i see it done . 5 players plus a ten pick downgrade from pick 5 . Doubt the afl honchos would let this one happen imo .nope - not right at all. There is potentially one of GWS late first rounders back as well...![]()
Kennedy was originally drafted as a mid and moved into defence.Marchbank, Corr, Stewart, Pickett, Kennedy.
Rising 20y KPD - Former early draft pick. Probably GWS best 22 if not for injury.
22y KPD - Former 1st round draft pick. Good 2015. Behind Davis, Haynes, Marchbank and Patful.
22y KPF - Showed a little early. Miles away from seniors in 2016.
20y Midfielder/small forward. Early draft pick cruelled by injury.
24y small defender. Overlooked in his draft. Out of favour.
Seems our mids will be Hrovat and the spectre of Pickett.
I think people are selling Pickett short, he was going very well until someone landed on his foot. If he is given the all clear from a medical point of view he could be a massive get, and the equal of who is taken at pick 5.
The way i interpreted the barass70 post was that we were working on getting pick 16/17 for Touhy then trading that to GWS for those players instead of pick 5.
Now that would be a dream.....
They are all junk (if we are talking in terms of where we need to get to) apart from Marchbank if the rumoured 5 are the ones we end up with, I don't know why people are talking themselves into being excited. The pick better be part of the deal.Im not buying this pick back in the deal until i see it done . 5 players plus a ten pick downgrade from pick 5 . Doubt the afl honchos would let this one happen imo .
