Well, according to Brisbane's B&F, Rockliff is their third best player...

Is Stringer a cappuccino or a long mac kinda guy? You can learn a lot about a person subliminally...![]()
I disagree in this instance. The rumours surrounding the culture that existed up there are particularly worrying. Forcing first year players to drink their own urine etc. If these things are in fact true, with Docherty up there at the time I would expect that SOS would be having a chat to doc re: Rockliff. Maybe all the rumours are complete BS and Docherty would be happy for him to be recruited, but some bullying tactics are hard to get over and if we are to build a united culture out there we shouldn't be recruiting potential hand grenade without discussing it with those who have first hand knowledge first. With all due respect - bullshit.
The playing list don't get veto rights on recruitment of players, that's entirely up to SOS as list manager.
If Rockliff shows enough maturity in an interview that the List Manager feels he can fit into the existing hierarchy, then an offer will be made. If his character doesn't gel, he won't. Simple.
I heard Bulldogs are pretty keen.
Much rather go to draft again in a big way
Package Kennedy Smith with Salary Dump player for 2018 second round pick
Balic for Boekhurst
Lang for pick 135. Cats need room to bring in Ablett & Stringer
Gibbs to Adelaide for 10 & 38
Got to draft with 3, 10, 38, 40, 56, 74 plus some other picks between 40-60 that SOS will to some deals for. Between 6-8 players in ND and 3-4 rookies.

Fair enough, but what do we make of smurfs intel?Barass70 came out and said dont believe the hype Kelly was never going. Seems like another Tom Mitchell situation in that he was never coming to us, just using us as leverage to up his price. I suspect SOS has cottoned on to that if that is the word coming from Barass70. Worries me not. Id rather go to the draft twice over 2 years than risk it on 1 player with a huge amount of cash that might do an unsuspected injury at any time. If you want to look at it like the stock market, I would prefered a diversified portfolio than having too much invested in a single player. Who knows, we ight uncover the next Josh Kelly in the process. Our recruiting has been A+ since SOS came, I dont suspect that will change in the next few years, especially from a position of pick 3. Would be very difficult to get that wrong.

I would be amazed if Murphy & Doc were not consulted.
A list managers job is to ensure any potential recruit is of good character and has a team first ethos. Doc especially would be the perfect person to ask.

Or an ice-d coffee
No disrspect to MS3 as I appreciate any feedack or inside goss but I feel Barass70 has more runs on the board or has proven to be more accurate.Fair enough, but what do we make of smurfs intel?
Right, and we finished third last... one of Krueze, Murph, Gibbs or Doc will be our third best player this year... how do you rate them? They also finished last....
Yeah that's about it agree totally , I'd only sacrifice an important pick 3 for Kelly he's a unique talent.Just bored mate .
For me its Kelly or the draft ...

Surely we don't get stringer. His just so injury prone tweaks a hammy doing jogs.
I'd happily take Tom Boyd though.
could we bring both Rockliff and kelly in? That would be a major achievment
Seem to recall reading an article at some stage on Marchbank where he said he knew Rockliff well from junior days around Benalla ?
From memory Marchbank was fine with him so who really knows ?
“Caleb is obviously a fair bit younger than me but my cousins Harry and Charlie Morrison grew up with him — Harry’s on Hawthorn’s list now — so I always stayed in contact,” Rockliff told Aflplayers.com.au.
“He comes from a really good family — my brother and Caleb’s old man did a fair bit of work together in the trade industry as well.
