Losing Crippa and Ed to injury definitely hurt as our young mids were either monstered or we were forced to run blokes like Matty Wright in the guts.
Imagine losing Gibbs AND we have similar injuries again. It will be diabolical, so we definitely need stronger, mature bodies in the middle whilst Samo, Fish, Cunners and Polson grow. We need a Rockliff 'type' and some!!

He's 27 now. Personally can't see it happening.

I recall Trigg, on more than one occasion, stating that older mids were a target for recruitment this year.

So his age wouldn't count against him. $$, cultural fit, role and skill set will be the factors.

He was an absolute gun as a kid up forward to, I remember CMan on TC was quite enamoured with him when he was part of the recruiting team.

He was that good up forward that he barely played mid yet ended up a mid pretty quickly in the AFL system. That's unusual to say the least.

I'm not averse to it though I don't want to dilute pick 3 in a bidding war

These guys along with Charlie Pickett will be a lot more mature and a lot more physically ready next year and they need to play. Cripps & Curnow are back. We also have Kerridge and are a real chance to get Kennedy & Balic (maybe Smith & Lang) who are ready to go. Is there also a Greenwood or Menegola type we can get as a rookie?

No idea. Just seems to be a strong rumour. Personally I'm not fussed. Happy to get Kennedy Smith & Balic and go heavily to the draft. Happy to get Rockliff if Gibbs goes but can't see either happening.

I'm feeling this trade period will either be monstrous or a complete fizzer.

I'd be comfortable with Rockliff (I don't think we're going to get him) but I think he is solid without been spectacular and ready to go. Would definitely be up for Stringer, I wreckon this year was a write off but he is real quality and a change could bring out the best in him. Still hoping one or both of Kelly and Kennedy...would make us a substantially better side

Because he has talent and at 22 he's young enough to turn things around.

Hasn't come on as hoped at the Cats for a variety of reasons, just hasn't had any sort of continuity at senior level which hasn't helped his cause.

His value right now would be at its lowest and for what we'd likely have to give up for him I'd say it's an option well worth exploring.
