Would you rather go to the drafts with picks #4, #7 and #13 or picks #10, #12 and #13?
Super selective again, why would it go 10, 12 and 13 with the more senior players and 4, 7 and 13 without? Why wouldn't it go 10, 12, 18? Because it doesn't suit your opinion. Theres nothing wrong with your opinion i just don't agree. Clubs like Sydney, Adelaide, Geelong, Bulldogs and now Richmond have shown you don't need massive amounts of high draft picks to succeed.

We have a great list of young talented players, we will another top 3 selection this season, hopefully find a diamond with a later pick and hopefully bring in guys like Kennedy, Smith, Balic, Rocky (without giving up much) and develop a winning culture. A club where you must fight for your games with several other guys.

Did he wake her up? Leave a note? So many important details left out here.
Not to mention what they had for dinner that night, critical component if things went array. Did the snoring become the last straw...leaving their clothes on the floor one too many times.

Also re the mids, I'm not being selective. Those 4 youngsters I mentioned are part of the team. That's why I said we don't have the core young midfield group yet. SPS, Cuningham and Polson won't be enough.

Besides, it's only Gibbs that will be missing from the 'teachers' however the youngsters will include: pick #3, #4, #7, #10, SPS, Cuningham, Fisher and Polson. Better to have the higher draft picks vs the lower.
Your question doesn't really mean anything because you are basically asking; Would you like our rebuild to stall or flourish? You are assuming that developing a winning culture as opposed to a losing culture in the shorter term is not going to have an impact into the future. We all agree that we need high end talent, that's why we needed a complete rebuild (I think we have very enviable high end young talent compared to the rest of the comp already). But we also need to create a winning culture, this will be much better for the development of our young players and their confidence. 15 years ago I would have completely agreed that getting in as many young high draft picks is the way to go and load up for years and they will come good, it makes sense. However, in practice I think it is not even debateable that a winning culture is far more important.

There are also player retention issues that we need to be mindful of. We have sucked the whole time Cripps has been here, if we still suck by the next time he comes out of contract you can imagine how hard the Perth teams will be going at him (and other teams going at our other younger players). If we start losing these players for draft picks and go back to the drawing board it could be disastrous for the club.

I highly doubt that age 31+ Murph, Gibbs, Rocky and a few picks at #10+ will take us to 18 that's why.

Richmond were down the doldrums for years. We will be fine with one more season of pain. The youngsters won't jump ship, we aren't Brisbane. If you actually read what I said, you'd notice I have us at around the same place in 3 years time only better equipped for the years following rather than bottoming out again. If that happens then you'll really start having to worry about players leaving...
