We would be the number 1 contested ball and clearance team I'm the comp. I watch him live last night at every stoppage and he has an amazing ability to get his hands on the ball and hit a target. He create a space with his creativity. It's incredible that people judge him on metres gained stat. That is like judging a key forward on how many spoils they get. Fact is he sets them up in the midfield.

Kelly is on another level to Treloar .
It sounds very much like Gibbs is staying and whatever compo Casboult returns if he leaves won't be enough on top of pick 4 .
Top price will rightly be demanded for Kelly .

I agree with you. The Dangerfield trade was unique, as Geelong are one of the most reasonable clubs to deal with and did the Crows a huge favour giving up what they did.

Kelly is better than Beams IMO and would be the best or second best player to come onto the market since Judd. We are going to have to add something significant on top of pick 4, such as next years second rounder and Casboult pick, a first rounder from any Gibbs trade or even next years first rounder (with us getting something back from GWS). With our lack of depth, I would have to think seriously about paying that sort of price.

I reckon that either pick 1or 2 of this year's draft are a steal for a player of Kelly's caliber, skillfull, courageous and professional all in such a man player very rare indeed , he'll finish his career a respected champion of the game.

They're different players. Sam is now a receiver and distributor while Tom is an extractor. Like trying to compare Levi to Jarryd Roughead just because they're tall and play as forwards.

Perhaps we could swap some picks with the Saints.

Lose : Pick 4 + 1st 2018 + 2nd 2018
Gain from the Saints: 2 x 1st 2017 + 1st 2018 + 2nd 2018

We would have 2 picks in the first round this year while retaining a presence in the 1st +2nd rounds next year.

Kelly + GWS 1st 2018 = Trade the later 1st this year + 2018 1st

Personally would only do that if we were looking to add more than Kelly, to possibly have a greater rise up the ladder, while the Saints possibly still missing the finals next year
